Monjaro and alcohol

Hello. I've been on mounjaro since march. I've had a relatively easy ride so far. Minimal side effects. Also had the unexpected effect of stopping me craving alcohol. Though not an alcoholic i probably drank too much on a weekend and hasn't bothered me at all since being on it.

I've moved up the doses and I'm now on 10mg. I have still enjoyed nights out over the course of the months I've been on it and drank relatively normally HOWEVER, recently I had a lot to drink and I was more poorly than I've ever been on the drink. This was genuinely super unpleasant. I had the same effects the following weekend with only one drink. This was over a month ago but haven't wanted to test it again. I am going on holiday soon and would probably like to enjoy a drink but I'm petrified of trying because of how poorly I'd been. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Obv I'll not bother with alcohol if it is that but I wouldn't mind having a drink or two on holiday if it turns out to be just a coincidence.

Any advice

Not touched a drop since Feb, the thought makes me feel sick, I have had a glass poured for me at a birthday, had to pour it away the smell made me heave.
I've not gone this long without alcohol for about 40 years, it's really unbelievable, it must work on the reward centre in the brain, because the calmness is also a revelation. I have taken every anti depressant going since I was 25, none ever worked, mounjaro has, and I've heard similar from other people.
Obviously I started taking it to lose weight, after about a month it quickly became clear that this drug, is a wonderful thing for calming the brain, the added bonus for me has been losing the weight.
The sad thing is it's obviously not prescribed for this, and now I'm way below goal weight I'm going to struggle to get it.
I hope more research is done on to this aspect of mounjaro and it becomes a tool for asd/adhd in the future, because it's been nothing short of a miracle in this aspect for me.

The reason it’s not prescribed as an antidepressant is because one of the well documented side effects is depression. Prescribers under NICE guidelines are supposed to regularly do mental health checks for this reason.

I was a binge drinker before MJ, not at all for a month and then a night out would involve 6 vodkas annd Diet Coke and a few pints of beer.
I don’t think I ever had a problematic relationship with booze because I really could always take it or leave it. I had actually wound down my drinking prior to MJ because my hangovers were so bad.
Since starting it back in October last year I’ve still had a few drinks but after 2 vodka sodas I’m done and don’t want anything else. Most alcoholic drinks are also gassy and I hate feeling bloated. I have had a beer from time to time but just the one. And vodka soda with fresh lime rather than cordial or without if they only have cordial, I don’t want any artificial sugar at all!
We’ve had a few holidays and I’m happy to drink or not drink but I wouldn’t stop taking my MJ because I was going on holiday, it would feel like I was defying the point of being on it. But I’m generally fine on it without terrible side effects.

@Horserider5678 ,thats the point, I wasn't depressed, I was prescribed anti depressants, prozac, citalopram, escitalopram, venlafaxine, blah blah, the latest was sertraline, I self medicated with alcohol.
I WASN'T depressed, but like many women of my age I was misdiagnosed I'm actually audhd, and mounjaro calms my jangly brain, an added bonus, I've heard of many other folks anecdotally reporting similar.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm keen to stay on the MJ over my holiday as I don't want to overdo it. It's not something that bothers me (food wise) these days.
