Mumsnet information needs updating re injections

The criteria for NHS weight loss injections has changed - the BMI is higher and you need 4 co morbid health conditions to qualify. How do I inform MN so they can update their information. ( Was told this information 2 weeks ago by my GP as I no longer qualify (

You can report your thread or email them

@Tiredallthetimeneedsleep What information? Where do Mumsnet state something you think is incorrect?

Tried to copy and paste but didn't work. It was on the (questionnaire?) re weight loss injections. Will attach screenshot.

Which part of that is wrong? It all looks correct to me.

roseymoira · 29/07/2025 21:28

Mumsnet give medical advice??

SilenceInside · 29/07/2025 21:29

But in general you can post on Site Stuff, or email them, or report your own thread which might get a response, if you want to contact MN.

SilenceInside · 29/07/2025 21:29

No they don’t give medical advice, it looks like they’re doing a survey and it’s part of the context of one of the questions.

LilyMumsnet · 30/07/2025 11:22

Hi OP

Thanks for flagging this.

The information was accurate at the time of writing the survey - we have no reason to believe anything has changed here. We're just double checking and if something has, we'll make the necessary updates.

Snozzlemaid · 30/07/2025 13:47

That all looks correct to me.
The last bit on your screenshot explains the NHS criteria.

stealthsquirrelnutkin · 30/07/2025 14:34

You are confusing the private prescribing criteria with the NHS prescribing criteria. Or perhaps confusing the criteria for those who have already gone through the NHS 3 tier weight loss programme with those who are making appointments with their GP to discuss eligibility?

The NHS can't afford to supply everyone with a BMI that is higher than 30, so they have set their prescribing criteria a lot higher.

Meanwhile anyone who can scrimp together the money to pay privately can still get the injections if they can prove they have a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 with associated comorbidities.

Many of us have found that we save quite a bit once we change our eating habits with the aid of the medication. Or decide to prioritise buying the injections over taking a holiday this year.
