Mounjaro 6 months in

Hi all,

I'm just a few days shy of my 6 months on Mounjaro. I started at 16:10 stone, I'm now 12:11 stone.
I am so pleased, I'm hypothyroid and in my 40's, so this has been a huge win for me.

However, I have been getting progressively more fatigued and I'm trying to figure out if it's my fault. I'm averaging approx 1100 cals a day. It zig zags, so some days it's 600, other days 1000, maybe a 1300 day once a week.
I do feel like I am not eating enough, and not getting the nutrition I need. There are lots of foods that I can't stomach whilst on mounjaro which doesn't help.

I'm currently going through a plateau, which seems common at the 6 month mark.

Does anyone have any vitamin recommendations that'll help with energy levels? And is anyone else really fatigued?
I am in love with this process and how amazing it has been, and I want to lose another 25lbs, but also want some energy back!

Can you try to eat more consistently? What calorie intake do you need to lose weight? Mine is very low so I really focus on trying to get a good variety with a focus on fruit, vegetables and low fat protein. I meal plan so I don't waste food and know what we'll be eating each week.

I did go through a stage really fatigued, think I went too low carb so reintroduced some which I think helped - just some potatoes/sweet potatoes/pita bread etc with meals. It upped calories and slowed weight loss a little, but after losing so much (you have lost 23% of your body weight! Well done) I think my body needed it.

Supplements will really only help if you are deficient in something, are you able to get a blood test to find out if you are? My GP did my b12, iron, vit D etc when I asked.

I've just posted this on another thread -
It does disrupt the dopamine pathway. I've been on it almost 10 months now and on 15mg, the higher up I went the worse I felt, really exhausted, low mood, no enthusiasm or energy to do anything. I then looked into dopamine supplements and found L-tyrosine. Been on it 2 months and I'm genuinely a different person, happier, more energy, doing DIY jobs like painting my house and gardening, going out, cleaning and more productive at work. If you search on here, I've recommended it to many before and others have also tried and feel better. Look up the reviews on amazon, it's a shame I found out almost 8 months on my journey as I was a mess and my house and work was suffering.

Thank you for this, it's actually been a reminder because some years ago I took L-Tyrosine for my thyroid and I remember it helped. So going to order those again today!

The dopamine thing makes sense, I'm happy to just literally sit still and do nothing sometimes. Not depressed but quite flat, so this all makes sense 🙂

Thank you for this, I'm going to request a blood test, I'm usually borderline aneamic and on Mounjaro I eat far less meat (and can't stomach eggs on it) so I'm probably not where I should be with iron levels.

Calories intake needs to be low (thyroid) to lose weight. I want to try and make some lightweight power meals. Something small but packed with protein and nutrients. Hopefully once I get the lack of energy sorted, I'll have some enthusiasm for making said meals! Currently I tend to eat small amounts of whatever is quick and available. And I know it's not working for me.

I'm not eating enough protein so it's not any lack of carbs causing the fatigue 😑
