Order requirements for orders from different suppliers

I may switch providers for my 2nd order but want to avoid those that require pictures or videos of me on scales. I will have no problem passing any photo or videos consultation requirements as a I am extremely obese, but want to avoid weighing myself. I have always become an obsessive scale user during my many past weight loss attempts and don’t want to self sabotage myself in this way again. I have taken a couple of body measurements and plan to track my loss this way instead alongside tracking my calorie intake.

If anyone else thinks have a list of the various requirements of suppliers without the need a start a consultation, please post here.

Supplier Name: Chemist4u.
Photo/Video Evidence: Full body, front and side view photos holding a piece of paper with the current date.
ID Check: Photo ID. I used my passport with no additional address verification required.
Other: NHS number (may have been optional) and GP practice info required.

All suppliers now require weight verification.

Supplier Name: IQ doctor
Photo/Video Evidence: Full body, front and side view photos
ID Check: Photo ID. Passport and real person verification by rotating head in camera.
Other: Granted them access to my summary care record but no idea if they used it. They do however ask for your weight each time to monitor your progress, all providers do so you will really need to start weighing yourself.

I use a local pharmacy with face to face consults the pharmacist each time. As part of the consultation you do need to step on the scales, but it would be very easy to ask for the pharmacist not to tell you the weight, just note it in your record.
Could this work better for you?

Supplier name : MedExpress
Photo: Full body front and side (no standing on scales required)
ID check: Photo ID, photo of passport or driving licence.
Other: permission to contact GP so need to supply GP details

Supplier name: Lotus (only if switching)
Photo of box of last pen showing name/date or screenshot of prescription
ID check: Photo ID passport or driving licence.

OP they don’t need a photo of you as long as you have a prescription dated within last 6 months.

All suppliers will require you to start a new consultation and to verify your weight so unfortunately you won’t be able to avoid weighing yourself. Your current supplier would also ask for your weight each month when ordering your next dose.

I am comfortable making an educated guess on my weight and verifying I meet the criteria through photos or a video call.

I would also suggest Lotus. I have just moved to them as am coming close to maintenance. I had to input my height and weight and also give my starting weight as my bmi is now 26. Then a current photo showing face and body, photo of ID and photo of current medication. I was accepted within hours and got medicine the next day.

Just ordered from simple online pharmacy and they didn't require weight pic, just a weight written in the consultation form, and body pictures. I'm also visibly obese so not a problem. I think all will require it for first order but not necessarily for a switch

Time4changeagain · 22/07/2025 07:51

I honestly think you will struggle because of the new guidance.

www.pharmacyregulation.org/about-us/news-and-updates/online-pharmacies-strengthen-safeguards-prevent-unsafe-supply-medicines

The key part being:

Medicines used for weight-management and medicines requiring physical examination before a prescribing decision is made have been added to the list of high-risk medicines requiring extra safeguards before being prescribed. Before providing medicines for weight-management, the prescriber now has to independently verify the person’s weight, height and/or body mass index, to support safer decision making and ensure that the supply is appropriate for the person.

Numan don't ask for a photo on the scales I don't think. Just a photo of you full front and to the side. If you are in need of a referral code for them I have one for 100 off first month.

When I spoke to them last week they said most orders are getting approved and send same day. They’re not very big though so not sure how long they’ll keep that up as lots seem to be switching. Rachel who works there is lovely, really helpful and friendly.

I’m sorry OP but as BMI is the primary prescribing criterion I think you may struggle here. I would investigate a face-to-face prescriber as @TreesOfGreen99 has suggested.

Allmarbleslost · 22/07/2025 11:08

Any prescribers who don't currently want you to stand on the scales soon will do.
