Oh FFS, I’ve just eaten a large bag of Revels

I’ve been really good for months now and have lost 3 1/2 stone. Mounjaro has really helped with my food fixation and overeating in general.
Today I had lunch out with a friend, which is a treat I don’t do all that often. Walking home I thought to myself how nice it would be to enjoy a cuppa and some chocolate. So the decision to buy the sweets was completely premeditated. And of course it wasn’t a normal sized chocolate bar, but a great big sharing bag 🙄
This is 100% my behaviour of old and I’m disappointed in myself … as well as being slightly terrified of going back there.
I’m on 10mg, soon to move up to 12.5. Not sure what I expect anyone else to say, really! I’m not even sure why I did it.

It's just one blip.

Has it not left you feeling unwell, though?

AwayFromKeyboard · 15/07/2025 20:40

No real harm done.. just get back on it tomorrow.

TwoToots · 15/07/2025 20:42

I think you are being very hard on yourself.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 15/07/2025 20:46

Hope all is ok tomorrow…

Doyouthinktheyknow · 15/07/2025 20:50

No harm done, this is life on any sort of healthy eating plan. We all have blips!

Get straight back on it, healthy meals, same as usual and don’t panic.

TinglyandCurious · 15/07/2025 20:55

Just draw a line under today and start again tomorrow. It’s okay. Doesn’t mean you’ve undone all your good work or that you’ve lost control. We all have bad days.

tryingtobesogood · 15/07/2025 20:58

It happens, sometimes we need to remember what we don’t want anymore

Brokenforsummer · 15/07/2025 20:59

It’s fine. It was one bag once. People who are a healthy weight do this occassionally. Get straight back into healthy choices.

OriginalUsername2 · 15/07/2025 21:01

It’s not a personal failing! Progress, not perfection.

If you want to be really good, think about what you’ll do next time you crave something sweet. I like a date with a pecan and half a square of dark chocolate - chuck them in your mouth together and it’s almost a Snickers bar.

ruethewhirl · 15/07/2025 21:11

This won’t impact things provided it was a one-off. I’ve come off MJ now after losing 3st, but one day while I was on it I ended up demolishing a whole Easter egg after a sudden craving struck. 😄 I just got back on the wagon the next day and was super strict about no treats for a while 😄 no harm done.

Theredjellybean · 15/07/2025 21:17

I'm on maintenance and doing really well, but other night I drank half a bottle of champagne and ate a whole large family sized bag of spicey whotsits...for dinner.
I definitely didn't notice feel great the next morning!

Theredjellybean · 15/07/2025 21:17

But I haven't fallen of the path again

JMSA · 15/07/2025 21:17

Thank you, you lovely lot.
No side effects as yet, but as we know, Mounjaro slows down digestion. So let’s see what happens …

You've made amazing progress and one day isn't going to derail your whole journey. Don't see it as bad, it's a treat, enjoy it and move on. No need to punish yourself or feel guilty. Sounds like you've had a nice day tbh. Back to normal now though!

Remember, eating is not a moral act. Food is not good or bad, just nutritious or less nutritious. Eating something for pleasure is not a failing. Enjoying something less nutritious is a normal thing to do.

You've got this!

Gowlett · 15/07/2025 21:20

Were they nice? Did you enjoy, while eating them?

JMSA · 15/07/2025 21:51

You know, I actually did 😬
I didn’t think I would, particularly, as I haven’t really craved chocolate since Mounjaro.
I’m not really a big drinker or a smoker, but I definitely saw the chocolate in the same way as a man might see a cigar after a good meal!

I think it’s really important to have moments like this occasionally. No-one eats 100%healthily all the time and the more we try to be 100% the harder it is to moderate behaviour around calorie dense foods. It’s hard to adjust mindset, but please don’t beat yourself up over it! Maybe try and add some chocolate back into your diet so that you don’t feel so out of control around it? X
