@foxlover47 You need 1ml insulin syringes, the needles can be various gauges and lengths, but 31g or 32g gauge and 6 or 8mm length would be fine.

Those are the ones I use too. They're very quick with delivery.

Kipperandarthur · 15/07/2025 14:45

Yes I also use those as well.

foxlover47 · 15/07/2025 16:48

Thank you all so much , I couldn’t think at all what to look for :)
thank you

I use those as well. I was surprised though cos I couldn't seem to pierce my skin easily with it, like I had to really push to jab it in? I assume it blunted when going into the pen. Anyway overall it was fine though.

@PearlsPearl If you find the needles blunt after extracting, you can get Luer Lock syringes and separate compatible needles, which enable you to take the needle off after extracting and put a new needle on to inject. That's what I have as I have been needle phobic in the past, mostly over it now, but can't handle the thought of blunting the needle before injecting. Obviously it's a small outlay to get some of those, but I thought I'd mention it.

@SilenceInside thanks for this, I've never heard of them before. I am very stressed by needles, is it easy enough to do?

SilenceInside · 22/07/2025 21:36

@PearlsPearl yes it’s similar to putting the needle onto the Mounjaro pen. You just twist the needle in place, extract the medication. I then get rid of most of the air before taking that needle off and then twisting a new one on. Then check for air bubbles again, prime, and inject.

Thank you @SilenceInside :)

@SilenceInside I am now going to order the luer lock syringes but I was wondering if you'd be able to help me with which needles I need please? There are over 30 on the ukmedi website and I have no idea what I'm looking for. Thank you for your time, if you have it!

PearlsPearl · 27/07/2025 10:29

Thanks so much, @SilenceInside. I really appreciate it. Not keen on having the blunt feeling again.

SilenceInside · 27/07/2025 10:33

No worries. Happy to help, as I had the same questions answered for me when I first wanted to try to use separate syringes.
