Hi everyone,

I started in Nov 2024 and have done great. I have 12 more pounds to go till target but the weight for about 7ish weeks hasn't moved at all. I am on 5mg and It is still very much working and have a few side effects such as feeling sick and diarrhea, so I don't want to move you to 7.5mg. It's just very frustrating as I've tried eating less and even tried eating more, the scales are not moving at all.

Any ideas would be great

I stalled for something like 8 weeks. It does happen. Make sure you are counting your calories, focus on protein and if your calories are at the right level it will continue coming off at some point.

Lifeisblaaaaaaaaa · 02/07/2025 20:45

It's so frustrating, it's been 8 months and it's just stalled!

I have a protien shake in the morning and lunch time is more of a snack like raw veg with a blob of low fat humous dinner is always meat with some kind of veg and if peckish later a small bag of salted popcorn. I drink absolutely loads of water. Just so so annoying

You don't mention exercise? What sort of things are you doing at the moment, and maybe changing that up might help?

Lifeisblaaaaaaaaa · 02/07/2025 21:03

So I do roughly 12 thousands steps a day, housework, walking dog then at work all day. Sometimes more steps depending how busy I am that day

What’s in your protein shake?

GoldieLookingBoots · 03/07/2025 08:27

I would check you’re eating below the recommended calories for your current weight.

Lifeisblaaaaaaaaa · 03/07/2025 10:05

Protien works is the one I take. It's 150 calories.

I don't think I can drop anymore calories i hardly have that much anyway. Roughly 900/1000 a day.

I had an 8 week stall at 75lbs down, started again and am down 80 now. 16lbs to go, slow but steady for the last stretch!

SilenceInside · 03/07/2025 10:10

You could try adding in some weight/strength/resistance exercise and/or some higher intensity exercise than walking.

VWT5 · 03/07/2025 10:15

I was also dissapointed to stall, I had 12 full weeks with absolutely no loss at all on 5mg.
Unable to increase my dose to 7.5 due to severe non resolving constipation despite every possible remedial measure.
In the end there was a recent sudden 2kg loss and hoping it continues.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 03/07/2025 11:10

I'm 7lb away from target and have been in a stall according to the scales for about a month. However, from the way my clothes fit and from the measurements on my scale I can see that my body composition is changing, as I am losing fat, building muscle and therefore slowly becoming smaller as a result. I'd highly recommend using something like clothing, a tape measure, or smart scales to gather some additional info as you may well find that you are in a similar position.

BrienneMonroe · 03/07/2025 12:20

Research calorie cycling. Up your calories for 3 days then reduce again.

Have you tried changing your injection site? I had a very slow couple of weeks but that kick started!

Letshavetea1 · 03/07/2025 12:50

I would eat proper food instead of a protein shake (see the Zoe website podcasts for information on this and other nutritional tips). Have protein and fibre with all your meals. Increase your fruit and vegetable intake. Eat seeds, nuts, pulses, good fats (avocado EVOO) and full fat yogurt. All good for the microbiome. Zoe information has helped me to shake up my food types and quantities whilst on MJ. I avoid UPFs (of which shakes are one!).
I empathise with you having a stall. I haven’t lost more than a pound in a month as I’ve only got 4 pounds to a healthy bmi. It’s normal to slow down toward the end of our journeys.
I’ve given up calorie counting, but focus on exercise and nutrition plus water.

InfoSecInTheCity · 03/07/2025 12:57

Do a reset.

calculate your TDEE at your current weight and activity level. Aim for 500 caloipries below that.

assess your diet critically, are you getting 2 lts water a day, are you eating a good balance of protein, fat, fibre, carbs etc

Look at your activity, are you doing any sustained exercise on a regular basis. I know you get a fair few steps everyday, but is that 3 minutes here and there or are you doing any 20-30 min blocks of brisk walking.

caringcarer · 03/07/2025 12:58

I plateaued for about 9 weeks so I came off weight loss jabs. Then went back on them about 7 weeks later. I started to lose again after 2 weeks. Just do a reset.

Crikeyalmighty · 03/07/2025 13:17

I stopped losing ( not on WLI anymore) when I was sticking to 1000 to 1200 a day for several weeks on the trot - so I upped it to 1600 for 4 or 5 days ( stayed the same) then reduced again to 1100 and the weight started to come off again - since discovering this I do 5 days on 1100 to 1200 and then 1600 at weekends and the loss is slow but pretty consistent. I do wonder with ‘some people’ if your brain now thinks 1100 is the new normal and refuses to shift weight if you don’t vary it slightly

16wimb · 03/07/2025 19:27

I would definitely try eating more.

2025mj · 04/07/2025 07:11

I have found that eating more and moving more is the solution
I seem to be loosing one kg a week since upping my steps to 20k (Not including extra dog walk, school run and just general moving around the house)

SamDeanCas · 04/07/2025 07:29

Sometimes you just need to shake the tree. Your body gets used to what you’re eating and regulates itself.

try something different for breakfast, maybe have your tea at lunchtime and then a lighter snack for tea. I’d even go so far as to say have a takeaway or something completely shit for a weekend and then get back on it.

AirborneElephant · 04/07/2025 08:46

Plateaus are ptreet common on all types of diet. It can be a good sign that the body is accepting a lower weight as the new normal and re-building its glycogen reserves, so you’re re-gaining the “water weight” that people lose quickly at the start. So you may still be losing fat even though the weight stays the same. I agree with the eat a little more and move more suggestions, try to incorporate some moderate or vigorous exercise as well as your steps.

Lifeisblaaaaaaaaa · 04/07/2025 09:52

Thsnk you everyone. I will try all the suggestions

susiedaisy1912 · 04/07/2025 09:55

Try eating at maintenance for a week then slowly increase your dose by going up in small steps. Works for me whenever I get a stall.

pharmer · 04/07/2025 09:56

Your body cannot generate the energy it needs to function, energy out of fresh air. It just can't.

Lifeisblaaaaaaaaa · 06/07/2025 19:12

Trying to eat more is poving difficult. But I will keep trying x

Think about quality rather than volume, I really like things like nut butters to meet that goal, they have good fats, protein etc and a small quantity gives you some high value nutrition. Same for olive oil or avocado, just add a small amount to your salad.
