Are any other females 40+ quite surprised - after taking MJ or similar - at how little they actually need to eat in order to lose weight?

I am eating a healthy lunch, healthy dinner and a snack (either fruit or nuts). On this I am losing 1-2lbs a week.

It feels restrictive vs what I am used to and there is no way I could have done this without MJ.

Once I reach my target, I can increase intake a bit in order to maintain. That I can probably do without MJ, but if not I will stay on the drug long term.

I am very grateful this drug is available, but at the same time a little sad at how little food I actually need.

I am active too. I do not lead a sedentary life.

All my thin friends eat like birds, so I shouldn't be surprised. But I am!

I read somewhere (though now can't find it) that just maintaining the female reproductive cycle is quite calorie-demanding, which if true is presumably one of the reasons women need fewer calories post menopause.

I’m feeling really dispirited. I’m eating very little, I’ve started to introduce exercise and so far since this time last week I’ve lost 1/4 lb. I have a massive amount of weight to lose and need to see some results to stay motivated.
Was up last night worrying about this and about worrying that I may need to stay on MJ for my whole life as my appetite came back with a vengeance when I stopped it for a couple of months earlier this year.

@thinkfast it’s not easy is it. I’m plateauing at the moment and just having to be ok with ‘not gaining’ for a while, or more accurately ‘gaining and losing the same 2kg’. There’s no doubt that adding some more exercise has made more difference this week. I am really struggling to find any time to add significant further amounts, but I’m aware that there are time choices I could make. What I do find is that even doing tiny amounts of exercise - Lucy Wyndham Reads 5 min workouts, a plank - puts me in a better frame of mind for more.
