Coming off Mounjaro after 1 month

Has anyone only taken Mounjaro for one month, to “kick start” their weight loss journey? Has it worked? Or did you put all the weight back on again?

Physically, I have felt fine on Mounjaro, no awful side effects and I’m on track to lose 1 stone in by the end of the month.

But mentally, I am noticing some side effects. Anxiety has increased, moods are a bit lower than normal. Admittedly there’s a lot going on in my life atm that is a bit stressful, but I just feel things feel heavier since starting.

So I am contemplating coming off it already. My BMI at the end of the month will be just under 30 (29.5) if I hit the stone loss. But will it all just come piling back on again straight away? I have been exercising more in the last month than I have in over 2 years, going to gym classes, running, getting 10,000 steps a day. I’m planning to continue this.

I’m in a similar position to you, albeit without side effects. I’ve ordered a second month (at 2.5) and will likely stop at that point.

I came off it after 6 weeks due to dreadful side effects. The side effects worsened after coming off!! Ended up in hospital with GI issues currently still under investigation
However I have lost 4 stone and I'm continuing to lose weight.
Certainly I stick to a calorie deficit and excercise plan now however the level of GI stuff would make it pretty impossible for me to overeat now days anyway..
I'm glad I've lost the weight and I think it's taught me a lesson about being careful what I put in my body. I'm not likely to forget that any time soon!! So hopefully I'm never going to put that weight back on.
My diet and lifestyle has had a complete overhaul.

I was contemplating a second month, I’d only intended on 3-4 anyway. But I’m just not sure if would be a good idea if I’m feeling more anxious. Would absolutely love if weight loss though.

For me, the scales weren’t budging at all the past 6 months, so now I’ve seen them going down it really motivated me to get back into working out and I’m enjoying that. But I’ll be so disappointed if it’s all just been a bit of a waste.

I’ve had a few compliments already of ppl noticing the weight loss so really hoping that’s motivation enough for me to keep being strict with diet/work outs when I’m off it

So sorry to hear about the horrible side effects, that sounds awful. Hopefully you’ll be fully on the mend soon!

I know what you mean, I have loved being able to eat “normally”, my old portion sizes would be huge and I’d be very greedy with sweets etc whereas now I’m like why on earth was I eating all that when a small amount or a handful is more than enough to enjoy it but not feel horrendous after. Def more mindful about what’s going in my body

That’s fabulous OP. Sounds like stopping would be the right thing for you. Congrats on all that motivation. X
