How much are your WLIs costing you and how much are you saving on food?

I’m interested to know whether other people are finding the cost of WLI is less than the amount they are saving on food costs.

Obviously different suppliers cost different amounts and there are various ways of making a pen last longer (longer spacing than a week, splitting doses, using the “golden dose”). And people’s food budgets before and after will be very different.

I thought this also might be of interest to people wondering about taking WLI but worried about the cost.

For me, the cost is about £85 a month or £21 a week. I reckon I save at least £100 a month on my grocery bill.

Food at home probably not much of a saving, but I've gone totally off alcohol, so that certainly adds up. And if we go out to eat, I can't eat both a starter and main any more.

My food bill has gone up a bit as fresh salmon and beef is expensive while frozen pizzas and crisps were cheap. I've saved on alcohol as I'm drinking less but I never spent a huge amount on that anyway. Apart from the MJ itself I've also spent a lot of money on new clothes!

We don't save money on takeaways as we still have one or two every week as a family (and it's a reason for ds and his gf to actually sit at a table with us and chat!) It is fine to still enjoy food as a takeaway - but obviously not all takeaways are equal.

We never had the carb heavy takeaways such as pizza, McDs anyway, but I'll now enjoy a spicy chicken kebab with pita/salad/chilli sauce rather than creamy chicken tikka masala with naan and rice, or will have a well chosen chinese meal, eating the protein (skip/drain most of the sauce/gravy) with a half portion of rice rather than a plateful of battered chicken balls, fried rice/chips.
