How do you decide to ask which WLI to ask for? Or does the prescriber decide?

I have realised I am not going to reverse my menopausal weight gain on my own, and am looking at WLI. I have a high cholesterol treated with statins, and aches and pains which possibly could be attributed to excess weight or the statins,
I have looked through this thread and have realised there is a lot of experience/ knowledge here, so looking for any advice please.

I suppose you would read up on them and then just decide which one sounds best for you.

There’s a limited choice, Wegovy which is the weight loss branded version of Ozempic, the active ingredient is semaglutide. Then there’s Mounjaro which is tirzepatide. There is/was also Saxenda which is liraglutide, but I’m not sure that’s actually available at the moment. Wegovy and Mounjaro are weekly injections. Both are similar, but Mounjaro has two actions where Wegovy has one. People lost more weight on average with Mounjaro than they did on Wegovy, in the clinical trials. As a result, Mounjaro is probably more popular and certainly the majority of people posting on the weight loss injection threads are taking Mounjaro.

When you apply online, you will typically be offered both Wegovy and Mounjaro, and then you can decide which to opt for.

Thanks all, I’m clearer now.
