W1D5.

If the initial does works, does it make sense to stay on it?

Do people shop around for different suppliers every month? How does that work if you're getting thinner/don't have an obese bmi?

Is it ok to just eat once a day?
And (conversely) is it ok to snack?

I probably have more questions, but I'll hope for answers to these ones first.

TIA

If the 2.5mg dose is working for you then no, you don’t have to move up and can stay on it for ad long as it continues to work.

Some people shop around every month, if they like. I’ve shopped around but not as frequently as that, I’ve used four different suppliers in 11 months. It doesn’t matter if your BMI is lower than the obese level as long as you can show evidence of previous prescription.

Its ok to eat once a day if you are getting enough calories and nutrition.

It’s ok to snack if that fits into your calorie deficit, can’t think of any reason why it wouldn’t be ok!

Thank you so much 🙏

Does going up through the doses decrease food cravings more?

I’d stayed on 2.5 for 3 months. You don’t need to increase for the sake of it.

You move up the doses if you feel that the effects are no longer working for you at the dose that you’re on. I was on 7.5mg for months and months, until it started to feel like it wasn’t as effective and my weight loss had slowed down. So I recently moved to 10mg which is working well for me at the moment. I’ll stay on 10mg for as long as it’s working for me.

Hello @RatherTardy . If one is still getting food cravings then going up the doses should diminish them.
on the 'lower' doses I found that over the first few days I had a good suppression of appetite and cravings, but it faded away over days 6 and 7.
It wasn't until I got to 10mg that I continued to have suppression over the full 7 days.

My weight loss support service is keen on eating regularly at the same times every day so your body learns when to expect food. For the first time ever I eat 3 (small and healthy) meals at (or around) set times, plus a snack at 3-4pm. I get hungry as feeding times approach but I know when I’ll be eating. The afternoon snack (a Huel bar) stops me getting too hungry and wolfing too much dinner.

This has been really good for me - I’m down 26% of my body weight in six months.

Don’t feel you need to chase so much suppression that you can only eat once a day.

Also, given that you’ll be eating less, it’s a good idea to make sure that what you eat is nutritious. It’s also a much more positive mindset to be thinking of giving your body healthy fuel.

Eating once a day is not ok, you need to eat a healthy balanced diet.

Echoing others, you can stay at the dose that’s working for you for as long as you like. Don’t be tempted to rush up the doses if the one you’re on is doing okay.
I’ve stayed with the same provider throughout. Cba with chopping and changing.
I have found eating twice works for me, just ensure you’re getting the right nutrition in and enough in quantity to sustain you!
I’ve snacked a handful of times in 8 months, tend to be fine on a lunch around 12/1 and then my evening meal.

RatherTardy · 14/06/2025 22:11

This is all really handy, thank you.

Healthy isn't a problem, as all I'm craving is salad.

Before starting, I would always feel hungry at work, and still do to some extent. I tend to have "breakfast" at around 10, some Greek yogurt usually. I then snack on cucumber and tomatoes. Lunch around 12.30. And then I don't eat again. Maybe some nuts or cheese in the evening if I feel peckish.
That's been a pattern for a while.

At home, I skip the breakfast and snacks and tend to eat once a day.
Today it was about 3.
If I wasn't jabbed I'd probably have a snack in the evening, but that urge is quite easy to ignore now.

I definitely feel quite hungry in the evenings, but it's easy to resist and I've not felt hungry in the mornings at all.

Sorry, x post.

I'm listening.
Most of the time, if I was to eat 3 meals a day, I'd be having to force down at least one of them, if not 2.

I've eaten once a day about 80% of the time for nearly 5 years, I hit my macros & have maintained a loss of over 4 stone with no resulting health issues. It does suit some people.
