Mounjaro - via which company?

Lavendar01 · 14/06/2025 17:36

Please help, I'm wanting to give mounjaro a go, as I can't continue living with all this weight. I know there are so many threads but I can't find one thats just discussing which company to order via.

So

  1. which company did you order via
  2. did they offer discounts everytime you ordered when upping your dose monthly
  3. Was the process complex or hassle free

Thanks!

Have a look at https://monj.co.uk for a list of regulated suppliers. Watch out for the ones that are a subscription service unless that’s what you want. Most places do a large discount for new customers, and then much smaller or no discount for continuing customers. But you can change pharmacies whenever you want to take advantage of new customer discounts. I’ve used Asda, Zava, Pharmacy2U and now WePrescribe in that order due to price each time I’ve changed.

also consider delivery type. I was with cloud pharmacy - they only deliver and you have to be in to receive it with ID.
I swapped to Asda where I can pick it up when it suits me.

I used farmeci . Com after swapping from medXPress and they are fine x

HopefulBeliever · 14/06/2025 18:47

I started this week with Numan. I like the support app that they offer. Approval and delivery were very fast.
It also offers a simple weight tracking interface. The videos that are in the app gave me confidence to get started once received.
Ive also had messages of support from a health coach.

While I like it at the moment, I can see myself swapping to somewhere like Asda where it can be collected.

@HopefulBeliever discount links and codes aren’t allowed on this board. There’s a specific Weight Loss Promo Codes section under Money for them.

I’ve used medino for my 2.5 pen and for my first 5 pen. Easy ordering, quick postage, they offer 8% off for subsequent orders.

My 2.5 pen was £108 with a 10% off code and my 5 pen was £118 with the 8% code.

Sorry I didn’t know. Will remove. :-)

I had a terrible experience with MedExpress- wrong dosage sent to me, my prescription sent to someone else, hopeless communication. I cancelled and registered with Medino instead. I’m impressed by how thorough the initial screening has been, including a conversation with the pharmacist which addressed my particular health issues. And they sent the right dose 😂

That’s strange I’m with Cloud too and they’ve never asked for ID. It’s usually my husband answering the door

Medino is free next day delivery via Royal Mail so can be left in a safe place if you’re out.

Nearlyhadenough · 15/06/2025 13:12

I use SheMed, which is a subscription service. It’s £99 for the first month which includes a blood test. Then £159 each month thereafter. Your first delivery comes with a ‘care package’ of medication for possible side effects.

Delivery is through Royal Mail, so can be left in a safe space.

You check-in with them each weeks, this helps me feel accountable!

I can log any side effects and chat with a pharmacist if needed.

I prefer this option as I don’t have to change every month.

Icedcaramelfrappe · 15/06/2025 13:21

I use MedExpress and havent had any issues at all with them, I've even phoned them before to ask something they were great.

They offer a discount too, don't pay full price whoever you go with. Look on the weight loss promo board here.

Also MedExpress price match so you will get money off every month and they will give you a code so you can get £40 off if friends and family use it whcih will help with costs if they do.

Good luck anyway, best thing I've ever done for myself.

Lavendar01 · 16/06/2025 11:25

Thank you everyone. This has really helped. I'm so glad it's worked for you and hoping the same for myself. I went on mounj.co.uk and compared all suppliers and prices, decided to place an order via Medino.

I placed the order Sat night, does anyone know how long it'll take for them to process? It said you'll be required to provide photographic ID and evidence of bmi, but I haven't been prompted to upload evidence yet. Is this something I'll be asked once they're processing my order? Or have I missed something when filling out the form? It also mentioned GP will need to be informed, which I'm okay with, but if they need their approval then I'm abit concerned as gp has already refused to prescribe it to me (I have pcos, high cholesterol and triglycerides which apparently according to NICE, meets criteria to be prescribed)

@Lavendar01 I haven't used Medino so don't know their specific processes but for all the pharmacies I have used you normally need to upload the photos before the order will be reviewed and processed. I would check your online account page and see if there's an area to upload photos, or if you've got an online message asking you to upload them there, or similar.

Pharmacies don't need your GPs approval, it's totally independent. They inform the GP so that the medication can go on your health record, so it's there for information if it is ever relevant to any other medical situation that your GP is dealing with. Your GP not being able to prescribe is nothing to do with whether you meet the prescribing criteria, it's to do with whether you meet the separate and additional NHS criteria for who is a priority to prescribe to.

Lavendar01 · 16/06/2025 11:57

@SilenceInside thank you, that makes sense. I've had a look on my account cant see anywhere to add photos so I'll just keep checking progress.

On the Medino website before you order Mounjaro, they say this about their process:

"Consultation process

To access Mounjaro without a traditional prescription, you will go through the following steps:

1. Complete a health questionnaire:
Provide detailed information about your health, medical history, and previous weight management attempts.

2. Pharmacist assessment:
Our pharmacist will review your responses and may reach out via phone or video call to confirm your suitability for Mounjaro.

3. Private consultation:
All consultations are private and confidential. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions and ensure Mounjaro is the right choice for your needs.

4. All-inclusive pricing:
The price you pay includes the consultation fee, with no hidden costs.

5. Identity verification:
You'll need to provide identification during the consultation to confirm that you are the intended user. This is required only during your first order.

6. Photographic evidence request:
You’ll be asked to submit photographic evidence of your weight, height, and relevant medical history to ensure safe and accurate consultation. This is also a one-time process during your initial order."

So I guess you wait until they contact you for the consultation, which presumably is a phone call? Not very clear!

Thank you all, your help has been much appreciated.

Just wanted to update all, I've been taking Mounjaro for 3 weeks now and there has been suppression but not massive movement in weight as some people have reported, about 1kg loss per week, I've been walking 1 hour 3x a week, do I need to increase frequency?

On the other hand, my cycle has shortened significantly this time, from 35 to 28days!!I took my first jab on CD7 and I've just hit CD28 and period has arrived. I have changed diet actually* so can be that or mounjaro. I'm quite happy about it as I have PCOS and have anovulatory cycles, varying between 35 to 40days. Interested to observe outcome next cycle!

@Lavendar01 1kg a week is an excellent result and more than the anticipated weight loss of 1 to 2 pounds a week (0.5 to 0.9kg). Especially as many people don't get any weight loss or effects from the 2.5mg dose, which isn't intended to produce significant weight loss for the majority. You shouldn't be looking to lose weight at a faster rate, as it's not healthy or sustainable.

Of course, you can increase the walking if you want to, as it will help with fitness but won't massively affect your calorie deficit. But there's no need to.
