Horrendous side effects that suddenly disappeared.

Basically.. I took my first 2.5mg jab on Sunday. Monday I felt quite rough, diarhea, nausea etc (drank over 2 litres of water, took electrolytes and diarhea medication).

Tuesday was HORRIFIC. I had pain in my back, tummy, neck, chest, even my jaw! I was aching all over and shivering but had a temperature. I've seen lots of other people having this weird muscle reaction to the medication but I legit felt like I was close to going to hospital. I continued to feel nauseous and had diarhea. I was in fits of tears thinking I had done something really damaging to my health. Then, today... every single symptom has disappeared. Everything! I feel completely fine, like it never happened. Has anyone else experienced such extremes on mounjaro at the start or when changing a dose? I'm sat in shock at how much I've changed in 24 hours. From being in so much pain that I could not even speak to being totally fine and dandy?

I'm praying that not every injection will be like this and it's just my body adjusting.

Sorry to hear about the SE , MJ has a half time of 72 hours so that the reason especially on lower doses including the effect. Meaning after 72 hours half of the dose is dissapeared and remaining around 10 days. SE for most reduces on the second third jab of the dose.

personally I only had SE first 48 hours on first 2.5 mg and only recently had some dizziness , coldness and mild constipation (I’m in week 14 on 7.5 mg)

hopefully the SE dosnt come back next week

Sorry to be a little dim, but what does SE stand for?

Ooo that's interesting so after 72 hours you have half a dose in your system?

Mounjaro has a half life of 5 days, not 72 hours (https://medical.lilly.com/us/products/answers/how-long-will-mounjaro-tirzepatide-be-in-the-body-after-the-last-dose-165280)

It reaches a peak in your system between 8 and 72 hours after injecting, and then levels begin to fall until after 5 days half of the medication remains in your system. Side effects can align with the rising amount of medication in your system, and then reduce once you’re past the peak.

There are apps like Shotsy or DoseDiary where you can put in the details of each injection and then see a graph showing an estimation of the levels of Mounjaro in your system. Then you can see if it correlates with any side effects.

SE= side effects

correct, that’s why MJ is not magic it’s a support tool as you do need a bit of will power towards the end of the week. 2.5 only worked on me for 2 weeks but for others it has worked for months, some has SE throughout the week some parts some none. so it’s a trial an error with SE, suppression/food noise

read up on the groups here and I’m sure there is a June group to join for support (I find my March group really supportive )
