Judgement from close family

I really want to start weight loss injections and I know I meet the criteria. But I also know my husband will be judgemental and react negatively. I think it's likely he'll tell others in his family who will share his sentiments. He's also obese and struggling to lose weight btw.

Has anyone else started WLI when their family aren't supportive? I struggle with anxiety and depression which I think is why I'm hesitating to do what I want on this.

@Incognitoburrito88 was it cold when you got it from click and collect at Asda? And does it need to be an Asda with a pharmacy?

If not, this could a perfect option for me

It does need to be an Asda with a pharmacy - the city I live in has quite a few big Asda’s but I could only collect from one - luckily it was 15 mins drive from my house. They keep the pen in the fridge until you collect it. Slightly embarrassed to admit this but the first time I was so nervous and excited and stressed that I did my first jab in the Asda car park!!

Wow so many replies, thank you.

I'll look into our nearest click and collect as that would get around him seeing the delivery, which is also a concern, given his erratic work hours.

I'm not in denial our marriage isn't in great shape; I appreciate it's frustrating to read someone ignoring the elephant in the room. But his mum's funeral wasn't even a week ago, and now is just not the time to address the bigger issues.

He's always done monologue rants(!) on any subject that comes up. I just can't tolerate them how I used to. (We're probably both ND though not assessed/diagnosed and I've been having a rough ride with perimenopause)

Just want to send you a big hug. Sounds like you are going through a tough time. My husband and I have been seeing a therapist together for a year (one of the things that has come out is that we are probably both neurodivergent - makes sense when our children are!) but I still just didn’t feel confident enough to tell him straight away. I think I needed it to be a decision I made for myself and was comfortable with before I told him. I have no regrets about doing it in secret to begin with and it is definitely doable.

I wouldn’t hide it as in a medical emergency (IF) it’s good to be known.

It blows my parents mind that in a box in the fridge is a £140 at any time.

Fortunately they did eventually listen to a doctor about the injections and then for HRT which before Easter it was like you must continue HRT an aunt came along thank goodness and spoke sense that she encourages my cousins who are older they do not need HRT so learnt something about my extended family.

I think you can get a royal mail delivery to the local depot to collect from there if you cannot get it from Asda.

Can you pass it off as some other form of medicine that needs to be kept in the fridge? Say it was prescribed by the GP?
