The best bits about losing weight?

If you’ve lost weight with WLI, what’s been some of the best bits of feeling better about your own body?

I’m only on W2 so nothing to report yet. But for me, I avoid looking in full length mirrors (even avoid my reflection in shop windows) and I hate having my photo taken. It’s actually caused upset among my friends/family because they have very few photos of me in group shots.

I’m looking forward to not disliking what I see in full length mirrors and be very chilled and happy to oblige when people ask for group photos.

Two things in the past week have really bought the changes home to me. Firstly I didn’t feel too embarrassed to order dessert when out for dinner, I used to regularly not get dessert as I would think everyone would judge me.
Secondly I was walking down the street with my 13 year old son and he walking towards us was a new girl from school, they smiled at each other and I don’t feel bad for my son to be seen with me, I was able to just smile too.

Oh also just feeling less sluggish!

for me I was always slim, then gained weight in 2023/4 then lost the weight in late 2024.

As I gained weight, it didn’t hit me how much slower my walking pace became or all the random health niggles I had that were likely weight related. Like my skin was awful/sensitive, my feet would get cold in bed, I sometimes got hot and sweaty walking short distances etc. All of that just vanished since I lost the weight.

The only times I get sweaty now is at the gym, whereas before like I’d need an sos kit when out and about! Like taking deodorant, wipes, face spray, makeup etc with me so I can fix up and presentable after walking 15 minutes to work.
