Yes I’m using the WW app in GLP-1 mode and I’m finding it quite helpful. Instead of tracking points, it tracks protein and fruit/veg which seems like a sensible way to do it.

AmythestBangle · 22/05/2025 08:11

I do the same with Nutracheck.

It seems that WW have calculated that they may be able to become relevant again when a lot of people are in maintainance after coming off/ decreasing their injections.

I suppose they didn’t have a choice!

For me, WW would be useless as MJ automatically makes me want healthy food in small quantities. I’m sure this is the same for a lot of people. WW may find that people don’t even need them anyway. I imagine the inevitable will happen eventually.

At what cost 🤷‍♀️

Even making inquiries about bariatric surgery and learning a private hospital now offer the injections - a package for 12 weeks with support ‘meal plan and follow up’s’ is priced at £1,300 + £49 consultation fee.

Suppose it shows me the pharmacy I buy direct from is a bargain at £420.00 for the same comparable time with a free weigh in.

They have to people are seeing real results. I've lost 4 stone

I use the WW app and find it helpful and easy to use. So many people will regain after stopping injections, I do think WW is here to stay

But people regain after stopping WeightWatchers (or any other diet regime) if they revert to their former eating patterns. This is not exclusive to WLIs.

The whole business model of WW (and SW, and any other slimming club) is based on customers either remaining long-term for maintenance or repeatedly coming back after regaining weight. There’s not much business incentive for them to get people permanently slim, in the same way that it’s poor business for dating apps to marry off all of their customers.

I know this and never suggested otherwise. That is why I believe WW is here to stay. There will always be people who need to lose all they have regained. Repeat business is what they bank on

AmythestBangle · 23/05/2025 12:36

But if longterm MJ maintenance becomes commonplace (and cheaper) in the future then WW may struggle again...
