10mg, old habits creeping back.

Hello all
Not exactly sure what I am looking to get from this thread except to see if other people have had similar experiences or tips. I have been on Mounjaro since Sept last year. In 8 months, I have lost 4.5 stone which I am delighted with. I have about another 4 to go.
I am now on 10mg, have just started my second pen. In the last 3 weeks though I would say I am seeing alot of old habits creeping back..sugar cravings, thinking about food alot, snacking throughout the day. Portion control on my main meals is still going well.
It is no surprise that I haven't really lost in the last month as a result. Same 2 lbs comes on and goes. I realise plateaus are normal.
The easy answer would be to go up to 12.5 to see if that gets things back in check but I am actually thinking that I probably need to deal with these issues more at a habitual level than just rely on the meds. I work from home and find that lack of distraction drives me to want to snack. Also have young kids so days with them feels like a constant conveyor belt of meals and snacks.
Snacking has always been my issue rather than my meals. I am thinking of trying to implement a no snack policy, 3 meals a day. Or maybe proportioned snacks to limit me.
What are people doing when "food noise" creeps back in? Any tips for how to avoid snacking especially when working from home?

I will add that I already prioritise protein. Something I am thinking is that maybe I need to actually up the content of my meals so that I am satisfied for longer. I do think there is a strong behavioural element to it as well though

Consider fibre as well as protein, this is really beneficial for your body but also helps keep you full. It's good you recognise its a habit when wfh- after years of punishing myself for being a snacker I realised I'm just naturally a grazer. I plan my food intake for the day but don't necessarily eat it as meals if that makes sense (danger of grazing throughout the day is easy to lose track so planning is key). Also find things to keep you busy to replace with the comfort of reaching for food. Children shouldn't need a tonne of snacks, have ready prepared easy stuff to grab and go to take away some temptation of pre packaged snacks.

You have the next dose available if you need it which is a good safety net.

I am 10 month in but still on lower doses, also starting to feel the same this week and having similar thoughts, need to face it at some point so probably best to start sooner rather than leave until later. Plus I really don't want the hassle of going up Mounjaro dose as I need to talk to GP before doing it so we can adjust my HRT oral progesterone as well.

I have noticed the fridge is calling again, quietly at the moment, so when it does I have "good" protein based snacks in there to divert me. Currently it is precooked/packed chicken thigh pieces, I'll go to fridge and nibble one of those for a minute or so, chewing each bite slowly and that sorts me out for a while, hopefully until my next meal which Mounjaro is still helping to control portion sizes.

Yes good point. I need structure on my day with the kids. I like to eat when the baby naps so I can enjoy my meal more but that then means I am feeding them both later and just means a constant stream of food due to different timelines rather than them having lots of snacks.

My danger time for snacking was in the evenings.

I started fasting between 6pm and 10am (now 4pm to 11pm because it feels so good, and I sleep so much better).

Whenever I think of something I fancy nibbling outside of my eating hours I tell myself I'll have it after breakfast tomorrow. Funnily enough, after breakfast the next day whatever it was has normally lost its allure. Though if I still fancy it I will indulge.

Ended up having to dispose of lots of softened biscuits, stale crisps and rancid chocolate at the end of the first year, and now I'm a lot more careful about what goes into my shopping basket. I didn't even know it was possible for crisps to go stale inside their air tight packaging, until I opened a bag that was 4 months out of date and it tasted disgusting.

I had this after a while on 10 but going up to 12.5 helped get me back on track. Well done on your weight loss though. I’ve lost 2.5 stone in the same time as you and have 2 more to lose so you’ve done brilliantly so far.

A friend who did well and never stalled, losing all the weight, eats keto on Mounjaro. I found it easy to eat keto pre Mounjaro but now weirdly find it harder and need or crave the carbs.

Daytime is more my issue. I am up from about 5am so go to bed early and don't like to sleep on a full stomach so naturally don't really eat after 6pm. 9-5 is another story!

Thank you, we are both halfway there! Yes it is tempting to go up to 12.5 but I know I still have a way to go so want to eek out the last couple of doses. I also already have another 10mg jab in the fridge so that keeps me motivated to stick with it as well. I also hear everyone talking about changing habits for keeping it all off and if I'm honest with myself, it has been the jab that has really done most of the legwork so far.
The other thing I've realised today is the allure of having a glass of wine when the weather is lovely and sunny. I don't drink half as regularly as I used to since taking MJ (maybe once a month rather than twice a week) but now with the nice weather, it is back to more regular tipples. Nothing overboard but probably a factor.

I’ve been drinking a bit more too. I completely went off alcohol at first.
It’s definitely the weather! Just the odd aperol spritz or glass of white wine for me but it’s so tempting.

I’ve had the exact same with 10mg, went up after about 4 months on 7.5mg to give myself a boost as food noise and sweet cravings were back but it’s got worse! I’m also planning to stick with 10mg for another pen to try and kick the habits. So you’re not alone and it’s reassuring to read someone else similar as 10mg seems to be the magic dose for so many!
