Where to get it from
how much it cost etc
side effects
how much weight you lost in what time frame
your typical day of eating while on it
how quickly it worked
how much exercise you do
my bmi is 37 so I’ll obviously have no issue getting it as I’m obese!

Best thing I ever did, no question. I’ve swapped suppliers a few times but use MedExpress now as they’re reasonable and deliver to my safe place.

Don’t buy any without getting a discount code. Lots on here on the weightloss promo code section.

Honestly, do it. Never felt better.

I have lost 2 stone since the start of the year. Only went up to 5mg and now I am alternating 5 and 2.5, and spreading the jabs out a bit more, around 8 to 9 days. I am in Ireland and with Mybmi, they were one of very few who were supplying Ireland in the beginning (it was approved here only this year). They aren't the cheapest but I guess I feel some loyalty to them, their customer service is very good and they dont ask for video meetings etc, you just fill in your weight and waist size every month.

They also say they do maintainance, which I will be hoping to keep up with them quite soon as I am now close to goal.

I eat whatever I want. I counted calories on Nutracheck for the first two weeks, then didn't need to. The chocolate thing is interesting, I too am/was a chocoholic, but have mostly left it alone since going on MJ, a conscious decision but one I have had no difficulty with. The same goes for wine. I was a daily drinker and now I can take it or leave it, so I leave it.

AmythestBangle · 19/05/2025 08:49

PS no side effects except constipation, and I believe that is related to the reduced food intake rather than the MJ itself. I just take a lot of fibre daily.

Overtheatlantic · 19/05/2025 08:51

Do you need a prescription to give to the supplier? How do you provide the information about BMI?

Deadringer · 19/05/2025 08:59

I am losing weight very slowly, about 10 pounds in 8 weeks, but this is normal for me. I am eating about half what I normally eat, and while I don't have any cravings or any desire to binge, I find I am really enjoying what I eat, even things I don't really like. I was eating carrots last night and I thought they tasted much nicer than usual and I don't like carrots! I suffer from constipation occasionally anyway and it has actually been very mild. In general I am just not as hungry as usual and find it easier to make healthy choices because I don't crave crap.

AmythestBangle · 19/05/2025 09:03

With Mybmi at least (I haven't tried any others): you register, answer a questionnaire about medical history, fill in weight etc, send a photo, pay and there you go. All on the website. Every time you order the next month's pen you fill in weight and waist size on your "dashboard" on the website. They have asked me for a new photo once since January.

AmythestBangle · 19/05/2025 09:06

(If you did have a prescription from elsewhere (eg a private doctor or your GP) you wouldn't need an Internet provider, you would just take the prescription to the chemist as with any other medication).

MAFSQueen · 19/05/2025 09:09

I’m keen to give it a go too OP.

My main concern though is having to be on it for life/putting the weight back on/the cost long term.

You send photos to back up whatever you’ve written on the form

cherrypiepie · 19/05/2025 09:12

I started in January and have lost 2st 12lb from 15st12 to 13st and three dress sizes from 18/20-14

I think you are overthinking it! Try it and see?

Don’t worry about exercise unless that is your main goal. The health benefits of losing weight will outweigh the lack of exercise (obviously if you can do!!) I swim a lot anyway but I didn’t lose weight at all. In fact I exercise less now due to other injuries/ covid /time commitments.

you will not want to eat food compulsively and will not get a hit from food. I cannot explain it. Sometimes I feel too full but rarely and I just eat less.

I no longer drink alcohol or coke or eat chocolate ans I was an addict! Well I do but maybe once a week? Not daily!

typical day is

b - fruit and yoghurt
l - cott cheese toms cut rice cake fruit yoghurt
d- chicken rice stir fry - small chco bar

I agree. It’s a big expense to have to have forever! I’m also worried about maintaining after without it/how my body will react when I don’t have it anymore

SilenceInside · 19/05/2025 09:27

How to maintain is an issue with any weight loss programme. I am happy that I will have that problem to solve, if you see what I mean. I'd rather lose the weight, get to that point and then do my level best to maintain the weight rather than struggle and for me usually fail to lose the weight in the first place.

At least with the availability of GLP-1 medications of various types, I know I always have the option to restart if needed, so my BMI doesn't have to ever get back to the high 30s, 40s or 50 as it was before I started taking Mounjaro.

I’m hopeful to remain on it for as long as possible. It’s worth every scraped together penny for me as the benefits are far more than simple weight loss, which itself also brings benefits.

Bug28 · 19/05/2025 12:50

My only regret is not starting sooner, although it is important to do your research before taking a medication.

I have been taking Mounjaro for 6.5 months. I have lost 5 stone 4, BMI from 38.8 to 27.5, clothes size from 20 to 14.

I have changed supplier every month using monj.co.uk which has been easy to do.

I do still eat chocolate and other 'bad' things regularly, but the mounjaro makes it easier to stop or say no. It gives you the will power to stick to a calorie deficit. I haven't radically changed what I eat but my portion sizes are much smaller and I snack a lot less.

I have had minimal side effects. Some constipation and some mild nausea, usually just after going up a dose.

witte · 19/05/2025 14:07

Also I stopped cold turkey back in Feb as I reached my goal weight. I’ve lost a few more pound since then but have maintained pretty easily.
