I’m desperate to start Mounjaro, however 10 years I had pancreatitis. I’ve not had any issues since, I’m scanned 3 yearly to check my pancreas and it’s healthy.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and started it
?

Honestly I wouldn't. There is a rise in hospitalisations for pancreatitis in people using the mounjaro jab.

I don't have data, just anecdotal from working in A&E

I had pancreatitis 20 years ago. Never been checked since then. I’ve been taking MJ for the last 10 months and have lost 28% of my body weight and have had zero pancreas related problems.

If you have any issues with the regular pharmacies due to your history there's some pharmacies that do extra work to accept people like you.

Livewell pharmacy, pharmulous and oushk off top of my head. I'm with Livewell and they've been fantastic with me.

I’ve had it in the past too, I spoke to my dr about it and he said he thought it would be ok (he had a little read on his PC I’m presuming to check what they check) but to immediately stop if I got any weird pains. I also went through Asda and was honest with them and they still prescribed it. I was super cautious and at one point stopped and asked for a blood test at GP and that came back absolutely fine so I restarted. It’s been a year now. I am still nervous but my weight was really starting to affect my health in lots of areas so I decided it was worth the chance (on balance)

Pancreatitis is an identified risk with this group of drugs. People with a history of pancreatitis should use them with caution. Pancreatic cancer is a potential risk.

Thus is the EU prescribing info for MJ.

I’m not sure I’d start taking it until I did a bit more research and also understand better what information your GP is relying on.
