Munjaro prescribed by GP

Hi all.
First post from a long time lurker. I'm 69 and have been type 2 for around 15 years. I also had treatment for a Brain Tumour 21 years ago. It is still there but hopefully dormant. My main deficit is balance issues, namely BPPV for which I need the Epley manoeuvre, and this has hugely affected my mobility and weight. My Neuro surgeon suggested I have weight loss injections to break the vicious circle, and I have just had a call from my GP's surgery to say that they are going to prescribe Munjaro, but I have to wait for an appointment at the Diabetes Centre before starting as I have to be shown how to inject.

I have read lots on here about weight loos injections, but most seems to be on private prescription. Will I be supported by the Diabetes Nurse at my GP's? I'm worried about side effects as I have a lot of health problems and want to lose at least 4 stones.
I know there are lots of threads on this, but any advice appreciated.
TYIA

You can always ask them. It's a postcode lottery. With diabetes you've got a good chance of being accepted.

Some NHS places only let you stay on 5mg so check on that too. I know people who were accepted by their GP but weren't allowed to increase passed 5mg so they ended up going privately.

Also don't get discouraged if you don't lose loads of weight at first, diabetics often find it stabilises their blood sugars before it reduces their weight.

Thank you for my first reply.I thought it was strange that I have to go to the Diabetes centre to learn how to inject. My GP is doing the actual prescribing.
