Does anyone else love protein yogurts? Which is your favourite?

Some things we eat only when we’re trying to lose weight. But no matter where my Mounjaro journey takes me, I think I’ll always buy these. They’re not cheap but are often on offer, and I find the thickness of them so satisfying.
I’ve just finished a Gym Kitchen salted caramel protein yogurt. Delicious. I’m also a big fan of Graham’s caramel chocolate. Not as keen on the Arla ones and MFP isn’t flagging them up as being so high in protein.
Have you found one that you particularly enjoy? I have always loved yogurt (especially sweet flavours rather than fruity), so that probably helps!

I have regular Greek yogurt for breakfast but a couple of times a week I have a Kvarg protein yogurt.
The strawberry sundae one tastes nice and I like the lemon cheesecake one and generally also get the stracciatella. I don’t like the salted caramel ones in any brand, they just taste synthetic and sickly to me, and I love salted caramel.

SilenceInside · 10/05/2025 14:12

The only ones I like are the Arla ones, strawberry or raspberry. They have almost the same protein per 100g as the Gym Kitchen or Graham's ones that you mention (10g, versus 10.2g and 11g respectively). Odd that MFP doesn't think that counts as "high" in protein.

WeAllHaveWings · 10/05/2025 14:20

I couldn't eat any of the protein yoghurts in tubs, all of the ones I tried were actually quark rather than yoghurt and I am not keen on the texture.

The only ones I eat are the Arla pouches (any flavour) which are actually yoghurt.

I try to minimise UPFs, so I eat the plain protein one from Lidl. I find a couple of days break from dairy each week does me good though.

DatingDinosaur · 10/05/2025 14:26

All yogurts are protein. Milk is protein. They're just marketed as "protein yogurts" because high protein diets are a thing at the moment.

Mnjmnj · 10/05/2025 14:28

They all have sweeteners in them though, don’t they? I stick to plain Greek yoghurt and seeds. I’d like to eat them but all I haven’t seen any with plain sugar.

Mounraine · 10/05/2025 16:03

Lidl's High Protein Greek Yogurt is Nova score 1 and 4% sugar. I agree with you in avoiding yogurt with added sugar.
Edit - or added sweeteners, hence looking for Nova score <4.

I really like the skyr plain ones. And they are lactose free

pambeesleyhalpert · 10/05/2025 16:11

I love the get pro ones

piscofrisco · 10/05/2025 16:17

Aldi protein mousse is my go to when I want something pudding.ish. The passion fruit one is banging.

Flyhighlittlepigeon · 10/05/2025 16:31

The get pro ones. Blueberry.

almostbloody50 · 10/05/2025 16:54

Go with plain Greek full fat and stir in some chocolate protein shake, berries, dark chocolate and flax seeds etc.. way nicer and less sugar and crap than off the shelf ones.

it’s like a McFlurry! Add some honey is you like sweet.

Also cheaper!

Lidl’s strawberry one - 20g protein

They are usually either strained, or have milk protein added, to increase the amount of protein though. A regular yogurt e.g. Longley Farm is about 4-5g.

I like strawberry and raspberry but other than that I can't stand yoghurt flavours that aren't fruit - vanilla, salted caramel etc. belong in pudding not yoghurt. But I do like the Milbona chocolate or caramel puddings.
(I'm not on WLI but still trying to up my protein).

Purplesphere11 · 11/05/2025 13:24

I find them a bit claggy but they serve a purpose. The Aldi protein moose in the other hand are delicious. The lemon ones are my favorite

FlappingMadly · 11/05/2025 20:17

Protein yogurts are a gimmick. Greek yogurt gives you the protein you need. And sorry to say you're still after the sweet hit.
.

Crikeyalmighty · 11/05/2025 20:26

I like Waitrose vanilla and strawberry 20g - as others have said more like quark - but are very pleasant if you don’t mind that texture and want to boost protein -

Yes, well, I enjoy them. I eat normal Greek yogurt too.

@JMSA yes me too - I like both

ThisMustBeMyDream · 11/05/2025 21:58

I don't like any yogurts, but my god I do like the Lidl high protein puddings. Specifically the Hazelnut and the vanilla flavours. Absolutely delicious! Not usually a fan of anything labeled high protein! I make an exception for these though!

They’re good, eh? I love how the vanilla ones are like a firm custard.

Yes, they taste just like an egg custard to me!

I don't see your logic here. Chocolate protein shake powder is ultra-processed and contains sweeteners. Honey is sugar. It sounds delicious but no healthier.

To answer your question, OP, the Muller x My Protein chocolate mousses are very nice - not too sweet and quite chocolatey. They aren't suitable for vegetarians unfortunately as they contain beef gelatine but I find this means that they have a much nicer, silkier texture than some of the others which can be very claggy.

If you want something homemade I defrost frozen berries, stir through a tablespoon of chia seeds and leave them in the fridge overnight. The chia seeds thicken it to a jammy consistency which I will have on Greek yoghurt in the morning.

dementedpixie · 11/05/2025 22:25

My ds likes the big tub of protein yoghurt (skyr I think) from lidl. He gets the plain one and adds stuff to it for flavour
