Fatigue - so so tired in the evenings

Is anyone else suffering with this? I get to 9.30 and am yawning my head off. Bed by 10, struggling to stay awake to read. I used to be up til at least midnight. Im sleeping VERY well but still yawning and putting off getting up in the mornings.

Does it ease? I'm on week 7.

This lasted til week 12 or 13 for me, then has been getting better since ...

(It's crap isn't it!? 🙂🙂 but yeah, does ease...)

Could have written this myself! It's a relatively recent phenomenon for me but for the past couple of weeks, I've nodded off on the sofa between 9pm and about 9:30pm. I am in week 13 and so have been on 5mg for some time. I'll up my protein to see if that helps but my iron levels are good. Odd, isn't it?

Lundier · 30/04/2025 09:03

Oh yes I'm really really tired (W4). And yesterday I had rice and fell into a sort of carb coma on the sofa for hours. I'm going to bed at 9pm and sleeping 10-7 every night but it's not replenishing me.

I am tired and cold! I think my body is fighting the weight loss by flattening my energy expenditure. I'm fighting back with squats and kettlebells but I'm not winning.

I'd say yawning at 9:30 and bed by 10pm is normal 😅 But then I've never been a night owl.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 30/04/2025 09:27

It's so strange isn't it? I'm sure this new sleeping pattern is better for me, but I feel like I'm losing time every day. My DC are barely in bed before I have to go up too.

Really hoping it eases like it has for you @StayingAnonForThis

Haha yes, I know what you mean. I developed a bad late night habit, I like a bit of downtime after the children are in bed.

The bone-crushing fatigue does ease but going to bed early is my new normal and I’d highly recommend it if you can make it work with your lifestyle. I used to stay up late to have some time alone and would end up snacking. Sleep is so so important for weight loss so I have chosen to see it as a benefit!

WeAllHaveWings · 30/04/2025 17:21

Been on Mounjaro 10 months and really tired.

Originally for the best part of those 10 months I thought it was lack of/broken sleep from meno symptoms, but started HRT recently and sleeping well most nights now.

Today I got my GP to agree to give me blood tests for iron, folate, B12, thyroid etc, but I am going to stop all the vitamins for 2 weeks beforehand to see results without them so I know which ones I don't need.

If nothing shows up there I might try a private blood test for a more comprehensive test as I don't think NHS does things like active B12 without a lot of back and forth and pushing.

Are you eating enough to give you energy? How many calories per day?

I guess it also depends on how you feel in the mornings/rest of the day. I am usually ready for bed by 10-11pm these days, whereas I was often up until gone midnight years ago. However, I wake up at 6 ready for the day and actually quite enjoy having a few hours in the morning to chill before work. I even did some crafts the other day, and it was lovely and relaxing. It's also handy with the current heat wave to be able to walk the dogs before work, as it's too hot for them after work

AnneElliott · 30/04/2025 18:26

Yes I’ve got this too - and the cold. I just can’t get warm. But it’s a small price to pay for the nearly 6st weight loss so I’m just going to bed early and wearing layers.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 30/04/2025 21:12

@WeAllHaveWings I do have hypothyroidism and anaemia but had a blood test 2 weeks ago and all was fine. I did have B12 tested too a while back. Hope you feel better soon

I can't wait for it to ease it's getting worse currently. I don't mind the switch to going to bed earlier, it needed to happen, but I could go to bed at 7pm most nights. Except I can't, because stuff needs doing.
