Hi all, I haven't been on for a while. I am currently on 15mg my weight loss is slow now and I have to make a real effort to lose weight.

I am currently 12 stone and a size 12. I am quite happy with how I look a healthy BMI for my height will be 11 stone 4. I am not sure what I will do with the price increases it will be a big committment to pay that much. I have a video call with my provider on Thursday so I am going to ask about Wegovy and what dose I would need.

I seem to be a slower loser than most on MJ and it has taken me since September to lose 4 and 1/2 stone. Even when I am not hungry though I try to eat as I am pretty active.

Below is a picture of me at almost 18 stone, I lost just over a stone before starting MJ and the second pics are me at 12 stone 10 a few weeks back. I was in London on Tuesday in 34 degree and I walked 35k steps in the heat with my hair down and I wasn't sweaty or feeling disgusting I feel so much better 😁

Well done on your weight loss, it really does make you feel better when doing everyday things doesn’t it? I’m like you I think, weight loss has been fairly slow for me and the food noise seems to have returned even on 12.5mg. I’m worried about changing Wegovy and whether it will be as effective so it will be interesting to hear how your phone call goes, that’s if you’re comfortable sharing on here. Good luck with it.

Snapespeare · 24/08/2025 18:16

I've bought three pens (credit card squeaky noise) two have been delivered - I'm going to triate down with clicks. Chat GPT has worked out a schedule for me, so I'll be off of it by Xmas. I can't justify the extra expense.

CW 12.2 - 95lbs lost since heaviest, 75
since starting MJ. I'm finding it less effective, and will just need to buckle down.

HappyShortFuse · 27/08/2025 21:38

How are we all doing now the price shock news has sunk in a little? I’ve been able to secure 3 pens and they are sitting chilling in my fridge. I’m on 12.5mg now so have secured 15mg pens with the idea of doing 6 x 12.5mg from them or possibly 10mg x 7.5 doses. I’m hoping the coming weeks will bring more clarity on pricing and I can decide then what to do. Feeling a bit more in control now that I have a (kind of) plan and know what I’m doing the next few months.

I feel bad for those not able to secure any pens and lay the blame 100% on Eli Lilly for that.

ShiftAMountain · 29/08/2025 07:05

A bit calmer. Some of the lower dose prices are not so bad if I do have to stay on MJ long term to maintain my weight. But I’m still going to try to titrate off because I hate being beholden to the company now. I was already a few pens ahead of myself so I have a little stash I can use for the next couple of months or so before I have to decide my next move. By then I should be at goal and thinking about lowering the dose anyway.

Settled on two 15mg pens in the end, cancelled the last one (which was taking an age anyway) chat gpt has worked out a schedule for me to click down and extend time between doses so I'm not cold turkeying.

I'm glad I started when I did. I'm almost where I want to be, but the market shenanigans are making me cross on behalf of people who aren't there yet. I had also thought 'on it for life' but now I'm certainly not in that space.

ShiftAMountain · 02/09/2025 19:31

Oh bugger.

I have had an achey leg for a little while now and yesterday I realised that leg was bigger than the other (fatter). I spoke to a video GP through my work and they have advised I see my NHS GP as soon as I can for a physical examination and asked about history of blood clots etc. Now I'm sat worried in case it's DVT - which apparently has a slight increased risk on MJ.😧

I'll try to get an urgent apt tomorrow.

Sending good wishes @Shift.Hopefully nothing to worry about.
I'd had an ache under my ribs for a few days. Had to ask ChatGPT where my pancreas is (...) to rule that out. Think more likely an aggravated liver/gallbladder from visiting my daughter and drinking far too much wine, so have knocked that on the head and back to normal. It's good to be aware of these changes, while we're on the Monj.

Mydoghealsmyheart · 03/09/2025 15:57

I cannot get prescribed the Wegovy dose equivalent to the MJ one I’m currently on. The provider wants to start me off on the lowest dose even though it’s safe and commonly applied to switch over to equivalent dose as long as you have a minimum week free of MJ. So now I’m stuck not knowing what to do.

ShiftAMountain · 03/09/2025 19:46

Thanks @Snapespeare - spent the day today in hospital after the doc sent me straight there. They think I have DVT so have given me blood thinners.

They were not concerned about the MJ, so that's good!

How are you doing @ShiftAMountain?

ShiftAMountain · 20/10/2025 11:12

Sorry - I forgot to come back and reply! 😥

I went back a week later and they retested my blood again and could not see any of the previously seen markers for clottting so told me I could stop the thinners and carry on as normal. Only to see my GP if I saw a repeat of symptoms etc.

Since then my leg has remained quite a bit bigger than the other (sometimes going down). so I am just thinking about going back to my GP to talk about what else it might be.
