Have you tried online from ukmedi they are quick delivery in my experience

NewDogOwner · 26/04/2025 15:35

Amazon Prime will deliver them next day.

WeAllHaveWings · 26/04/2025 15:36

You can try at a pharmacy but they will look at your funny! Mine gave me a funny look 🤔 when I only asked if they sold pre injection wipes as my supplier didn't send any and then told me they didn't have any 🙈

Amazon do not sell human grade syringes. You don't know what you are getting. Safer to buy from a UK based medical company.

Bellsize · 26/04/2025 15:40

OK I will try Amazon Prime - do I need to buy two sizes of needles - one to withdraw and another to inject - as I was reading that the needles can get blunted on withdrawal so are more painful to inject?

Are these the size I need?

Just take it as its been prescribed to you, is my advice

Countesschaos · 26/04/2025 15:41

got mine from amazon prime... cheap enough. i think chemists will not give you them as you have to be registered etc, no idea how amazon get round it

SilenceInside · 26/04/2025 15:47

Amazon “get round it” by not claiming that they are for medical use, they sell them as “measuring aids” or for craft projects. For the sake of a couple of days, I’d order from an actual medical supplies company like UK Medi or similar.

WeAllHaveWings · 26/04/2025 15:56

@Bellsize the needle you have linked to is quite long with a 12.7mm needle. It is likely your pen needles are only 4mm or 6mm so it is double the length which is not necessary.

This is a 8mm fixed needle which seems to be the shortest you can get with a fixed needle. I have seen a couple of people recently saying the needles bent on them - they are very fine at 32G so you need to be careful when using.

https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk

This again is an 8mm fixed needle. Slightly thicker at 30G, but less likely to bend. I can't see any 31G on the UK Medi site, but if you search for 1ml 8mm 31G you might find some on other medical supplier sites.

I personally use separates because I am a needle wimp - separate 1ml luer lock syringe and a 6mm 31G needle (they have 4mm too if you prefer them). If you want you can buy twice the number of needles and swap needles between extracting and injecting (I do again because I am a wimp, but most people say it isn't necessary)

I asked my husband to go and get some - he said they thought he was an addict and offered him support. Very awkward 🤣

DeltaAlphaDelta79 · 26/04/2025 16:16

My local pharmacy sold me a pack of 10 insulin syringes for £2. They didn't quibble or ask what they were for.

They are double the length needle of the ones that come with the pen, so I just dont insert them all the way.

ToBeOrNotToBee · 26/04/2025 16:17

These are the ones I use

These are what I have and swap the needle between withdrawing and injection. Not the cheapest but still cheaper than a new dose!

I've seen a few posters who do the same and every time someone says it I have a shiver 🤣 10 months in and I still can't look when I stick the needle in, there is no way I would be able to look to judge half way! 🙈

I feel the one from the pharmacy, as ots slightly thicker than the pen needle but it doesn't hurt. I was a bit wary the first time, but its not bad I promise. I could probably get it all the way in if I wanted to, I have enough padding 🤣

Mysticmaiden · 26/04/2025 18:21

OP I use these from SHD medical that you posted, only cost me £5.24 back in November! I only inject half way and have no concerns with how fatty my tummy is! Its 29G so doesn't bend etc. Have used 4 so far, no issues. I use the same to withdraw and inject, don't feel it at all, in fact feel it less than the 4mm ones for the pen.

LightCameraBitchSmile · 26/04/2025 23:55

needle blunting isn’t a thing (according to medical journals) so don’t worry about that. But with Mounjaro pens you can just force twist the pen and use a normal needle cap (I did it today!) just need pliers to force it

My last three pens havent worked like that. I think the manufacturers have fixed them now so they cant be forced anymore. You may have had an older batch pen.

Oh damn it. Should have read on.

Oh well at least I bought the needles.

Mysticmaiden · 27/04/2025 18:13

In 6 pens I've managed to do the hard twist twice, didn't attempt it this time as I wanted to use it all up as 10mg had worn off so the extra 0.1ml bumped it up to almost 12mg which gave me the suppression back. On to 12.5mg next.

i tried this with my last pen, and yes it forced but then it wouldn't inject.. so i have syringes at the ready. i refuse to lose a does as its so blooming expensive

Exactly the plunger detaches on most pens now so it won't push the liquid down so you have a needle stuck in your skin with nothing going in. Which is why it's easier to buy a pack of 10 syringes and do it that way.
