If you have high cholesterol and blood pressure due to being overweight does that mean when you lose the weight you will eventually be taken off the meds that treat these illnesses?

I will ask the Doctor next time but asking here for people’s experiences.

It entirely depends on whether your high cholesterol or high BP lowers to the point that you don't need medication. So a very individual thing. My BP has lowered to optimal but I am still on BP medication. If my BP drops lower then maybe my medication would be reviewed.

But, certainly for BP and I think for high cholesterol, it can be essential rather than lifestyle/weight related which would mean continuing medication even if you lose weight.

My blood pressure has reduced from around 110/80 to around 98/68 over the last 6 months (I bought a home monitor to keep an eye on it)

Those are home measurements - in GP the measurements which are always higher and have reduced from 140/85 to 120/75 over the year from December to December.

I have a call with Dr next week to review my HRT and also going to ask if I can try to reduce my BP med (Ramipril) too.

I’m on atorvastatin and the benefits have been proven in clinical studies to go beyond just cholesterol lowering, so although my levels are better I will keep taking it. Maybe I’ll go from 20 to 10. My father died from heart issues, so I’m keen to do as much as I can to prevent further CVD.

I have just been told to come off labetolol by my GP after my annual review, 27lb lost so far.

For some people, yes. My doctor-led prescription service (not in UK) keeps records of all the medications we are on at the start and then what we come off, in order to build up evidence that the WLIs ought to be publicly funded. They have a statistic somewhere about how much use of other medications they’ve been able to eliminate with WLI use.
