Which supplier? Overwhelmed and not even started yet!

I’ve made the decision to start the journey. Currently almost 19stone and need help to reduce and get control.

I’ve googled and looked at multiple online suppliers, I’ve scrolled the various threads on here, and now I feel overwhelmed and don’t know how to make the first step of choosing a supplier.

I see many offers for the first dose, I’d rather have a supplier that is just reasonable throughout rather than just a big initial discount.
support would be good, but what is the support actually given and with which suppliers?
advice would be much appreciated thank you

I want to wish you success in losing lots and lots.
It's a long wait until the finish but keeping on the path works.
I'm sorry I can't advise on suppliers as I've lost weight naturally. I'd love to use the drugs but was too embarrassed to ask a doctor.
In the past years I lived on crisps and chocolate with the occasional bowl if shreddies 'for health'.
I offer you my best wishes and hope someone comes along soon with advice.

GreenPinkYellowOrange · 21/04/2025 00:47

Thanks @Havingaswimmoose. I’ve been to the doctors, I’m not eligible for it on nhs but they are happy for me to have it through private supplier. I’ve got high blood pressure and diagnosed sleep apnoea but I’m not diabetic or pre diabetic so not currently eligible on NHS apparently.
I’ve done many diets over the years with various success, but this last year/ 18 months just feel that I’ve lost control, all I think about is food. This is why I’ve decided to go down the injection route, I need the help taking away the constant food noise. Just need to make the step and order it!

Hello @GreenPinkYellowOrange, I am in exactly the same position as you, I am planning to start soon but don’t know who to go with. I like the idea of a something that offers some support too - I think Boots have a coaching offer and Juniper is a package of injections, support and advice, exercise plans etc. But they are more expensive and I don’t know whether you are tied into a package. I’d be interested to hear from anyone that has done Juniper.

sorry I can’t offer any advice but will be following with interest!

I really do feel for you and know where youre coming from. I'm sorry to not have an answer to your specific question. I'm probably not helping you.

I felt exactly like you over food. I literally felt I had no hope of existing without the freedom to eat anything I felt like. Food was what got me out of bed in the morning, quickly!

I've lost a lot of weight several times through my life, I'm talking seven stone plus taken off then put back on.
I've been size six and size twenty four, with the clothes for the in-between sizes!

I felt i couldn't cope with restrictions over my food choices so I couldn't diet.

One of the things that helped was to think of myself as an addict. So for example if I was an alcoholic I'd never be near alchohol, i could never be near certain foods
.. None of my 'bad' foods entered the house or car etc.

I'm really sorry the doctor wouldn't help you. I'd have assumed you are a perfect candidate for it. I see that you have hardly any answers so I hope I can bump your thread up.

Come on ladies/people help GreenPinkYellowOrange.

Are you using the monj website to start with? You can compare prices there.

Time4changeagain · 21/04/2025 05:00

On the monj website you will find info about which supplier offers the best price, offers support, maintenance etc.
https://monj.co.uk/mounjaro-price-comparison-by-monj/

Here is the list of suppliers that offer a price match so no need to swap each month.

Hi @GreenPinkYellowOrange It is really overwhelming when you start isn’t it? I’d recommend MedExpress. Not the cheapest I think overall throughout the journey but very reliable (you need that for this type of medication) I can order on a Monday and in general the meds will arrive latest by Wednesday. Packaging is excellent (really well insulated) and discreet. They are quick to reply to queries IME as well as quick to get you started. I can PM you a code for your first order which gets you £40 off if you would like one.

I’ve been on MJ since November and I’ve lost 44lbs so far. I’m about 17lbs off my target weight. Minimal side effects for me - massive benefits. Things to consider/top tips I’ve found useful before starting:

-MJ works best if you approach with a whole lifestyle overhaul. You need to consider movement as well as nutrition to get the best results.
-MJ does cause muscle loss if you are not careful so think about how to incorporate weight-bearing exercise or training into your routine
-Get a set of smart scales (mine are Renpho and cost £25 from Amazon) so you can track your body stats
-Download the ‘Shotsy’ app to track your injections and record your results (it is free)
-Download the ‘Methreesixty’ body scan app as some weeks your WL will be slow but you may have lost inches and it keeps you motivated
-Join a specific month starter thread on MN it helps to chat to other people at the same point in the journey as you plus it gives you accountability anonymously.
-use My Fitness Pal or similar to record your nutrition macros. Protein intake is especially important during the WL journey so consider how you can incorporate 1-2g of protein per kg of your body weight per day into your diet
-know your BMR (the scales can help you with his) so you ensure you eat at least that amount per day and avoid your body going into starvation mode.
-you need to hydrate on MJ - lots of water all day long
-Digestive issues can be a side effect either constipation or diarrhoea so think about your fibre intake too.

Hope that helps! Good luck - starting MJ has really been the best decision for me.

Goinghome24 · 21/04/2025 06:43

Hi welcome

Its thre best decision you will evsr make for your long term health!. I started in December and have lost 32lbs. Feeling so much better about myself.

MJ cuts the food noise conpletely and its so much easier to make healthy choices So it sounds like it would be a real help to you.

Agree with the advice to join one of the monthly groups. So much support snd youre all at the same stage.

Dont worry too much about getting 'the best" supplier. You can find one that suits initially then change whenever you need to.

I started with Asda. It was convenient for mr. I could collect my pens with the big shop and speak to the staff in the pharmacy. They were really helpful. Not the cheapest but for me it was the easiest way to begin.

When my bmi got lower than 30 ( I am now bmi 26) I moved to a different supplier who offers maintenance.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 21/04/2025 06:47

Welcome!! Have a look on monj.co.uk and read through some of the pharmacy sites to see what they offer then think about what you need/want.

Personally, I like the smaller owner run pharmacies as they are very responsive, often more ethical (no use of influencers or mlm style selling via referral codes) , don’t invent arbitrary rules, are often more flexible, it’s easy to speak to a prescriber and most are very supportive of maintenance. On that basis, I would not touch Medexpress with a barge pole!!

I changed providers several times in the 10 months I have been taking MJ as I became more aware of what was important to me and the type of support I wanted.

Good luck!

Mounraine · 21/04/2025 06:47

I avoided MedExpress because of all the "scramble" around finding codes, people trying to get you to use their codes, supply delays etc.

SharpOpalNewt · 21/04/2025 06:48

I went with Superdrug even if they were not the cheapest, as I'd used their online pharmacy before and knew them to be reliable. Plus I was quite scared of taking a new drug, and didn't want to use a company I hadn't heard of as obviously there is fake stuff out there.

Bitezbabe · 21/04/2025 06:56

I’ve used Voy for the whole of my journey. Not the cheapest but I’ve had no problems with delivery and packaging is excellent. Been able to change doses easily and change delivery days with no problem.

Whichever company you decide on good luck.

Hangryfastjo · 21/04/2025 08:00

I started with Oushk then moved to IQ Doctor. IQ Doctor seem to have codes everyone can use and will price match (but not done this myself).
Good Luck

Mysticmaiden · 21/04/2025 08:04

If you want support go with oushk. I moved over to them in January after 3 months and had tried 3 pharmacies before that but oushk let you choose delivery day and also have a Facebook support group and you can book video consultations with them. I moved over to them also for their maintenance plans which are 15% off standard price and free delivery forever.
Oushk also release regular discount codes (one starting £30 off and one constant £15 off and then others every month or so like £18-22 off) unlike some that only offer for first pen.
I have my maintenance plan booked at end of may as im now bmi 27.0, started 32.4.
Please don't touch medexpress, I've heard lots of delays and only cheap on first pen.
I've used pharmacy2u, the family chemist and pillsorted, they were all OK but pillsorted was best for quickest turnaround but for a better service overall you can't beat oushk which is why they're popular.

I haven’t experienced any of this. You aren’t forced to share a code and they are competitive in the main without using any. They also price match the main suppliers so if you could’ve bought it cheaper elsewhere they’ll credit your account with the difference.

Good luck!

bugalugs45 · 21/04/2025 13:48

My best friend uses med express , no issues and they offer a price match guarantee plus £5 credit .
I’m not sure exactly how it works but she raves about them, she’s used them for approx 4 months

Not forced to no but you get a £40 credit if someone uses your code.
They don’t price match everyone or any promotions either so if nobody uses your code other suppliers would be so much cheaper

Allmarbleslost · 21/04/2025 17:29

I'm with Oushk and they've been great. They do always seem to be out of stock of the higher doses though so I might have to start shopping around very soon.

GutsyFinch · 21/04/2025 20:54

I started with The Online Clinic at first because my GP told me about them - she wasn’t advising me to use them but as she mentioned them I felt reassured. Since then I have moved to pharmacy 2 U and am now using ZAVA Med - good service from all three. Best to check on monj.co.uk for best prices. Have to say this is the best decision I’ve ever made list 36lbs so far since mid November - no bad side effects just the odd headache if I don’t drink enough and the odd day of constipation. Good luck x
