I am soooo cold

Hello

Just coming to the end of week 5, no
major side effects other than I am colder than I thought ever possible. My hands are like blocks of ice and I feel cold through to my bones, and that cold has a lot of padding to get through before it can get to my bones! I'm sat at my desk shivering. It's making me really miserable. I ate breakfast (351cals) about 90mins ago ish so it can't be lack of food. This isn't a new thing, I've been consistently cold for nearly 5 weeks! 🥶
Anyone any ideas to make my body less bloody cold?! I cannot spend my whole life wrapped in a heated throw, can't wear gloves because I can't type or use my mouse trackpad.

I'm crossing everything that one of you lovely MJ people have found the solution. Even if it's a supplement which I will take despite the fact I am rattling from the volume of supplements I already take!

I am cold all the time too. I wear fingerless gloves or wristwarmers whilst working and typing. I wear double sock layers, with big fluffy socks over normal socks. I find the trick is to avoid getting too cold in the first place, so wrap up warm in lots of layers to start with and use heated throws/heatpads/hot water bottles etc immediately. I wear a neck warmer and a scarf all the time too.

Other than that, I have not found anything that will help with it, unfortunately.

HansHolbein · 16/04/2025 13:35

Really sorry but I’m nearly 6 months in and still cold. It’s been my only side effect really. I’m hoping this means I won’t be boiling this summer?!

Sick · 16/04/2025 13:41

I am also freezing all the time.

I was sunbathing in my winter coat yesterday while everyone else was in t-shirts.
Literally laying on a sun lounger wearing jeans, jumper, and my massive coat I normally only wear when it's below freezing. First time I felt properly warm in weeks!

I am also hoping it means I won't be a red, sweaty, mess this summer.

WLINewbie · 16/04/2025 13:45

Week 9 and freezing ❄

NowGetUp · 16/04/2025 14:25

4 months in and still freezing!

I carry a hot water bottle everywhere! Have an electric blanket on my bed, an extra electric heater in my office, and I wear a heated gillet when I go out for walks!

I console myself with the fact that being cold burns more calories! So I'm ok with it 😉

Arglefraster · 16/04/2025 14:29

Moving is the only thing that works for me (HWB on my back if I can't move) so getting up & doing 10 squats or whatever every 20 mins or so.

Fffreeeeezing · 16/04/2025 16:05

looks like this is with me for the foreseeable then 🤣 fair point about it being good in the summer though. I just don't remember this being an issue during my obligatory Lighter Life stint, or Cambridge, or Keto, Atkins.........
Lets thinks positively, has got to be better than puking etc. And end result has to be better than the pain I went through at the weekend, and now of sitting on a garden chair at a friends house that were a) not strong enough to take my weight and so was sat teetering on the edge all day waiting for the legs to snap and b) not wide enough so the arms dug into my thighs and I now have painful black and blue thighs, eeghhh

Always cold here too. Currently under two blankets with the fire on. I’m at target now and microdose at 1.75mg and my hands are basically numb with cold

Katkins17 · 16/04/2025 19:09

It’s horrible isn’t it.

It’s painfully cold….whole body spasms of shivering.
after 9 months I only get it the day of the injection and cosy warm the rest of the time, so it does go.

ymemanresu · 16/04/2025 19:12

Why does this happen? Nervously waiting for my MJ in the post

SilenceInside · 16/04/2025 19:33

Apparently there’s a theory that Mounjaro affects the vagus nerve which also affects your body temperature regulation. As well as it being to do with eating fewer calories and having less body fat.

I started feeling cold very early on, whilst I was still more than 20 stone, so definitely not to do with losing my fat insulation.

In general I don’t mind running cold now, as it means I am never worried about being a hot sweaty mess. It used to really worry me if it was a hot day and I couldn’t find a way to keep cool. Especially being so big, and all the unpleasant references there are to bigger women and sweating in popular culture.

Mysticmaiden · 16/04/2025 20:28

6.5 months on it today and currently lying on a heated underblanket on sofa with a sherpa blanket on top and a fluffy waterfall cardigan on top of a vest, cardigan and thick stretch trousers, with socks and fluffy winter ankle slippers! It doesn't end!

Babymamamama · 16/04/2025 21:13

Yep me too. Had to buy thermal vests and a thicker duvet. But the weight loss is totally worth it.

ICanTellYouMissMe · 16/04/2025 21:17

I lost five stone and now I’m always always always cold. It does my head in!

Thanks for this, i had no idea and am going to research. My hands and feet are always really cold anyway so i’m a bit worried now. I hope it’s working well for you x

Butterfly44 · 16/04/2025 21:27

Have always been cold as hypothyroid but even more now on MJ. Am prepared with heated blanket on bed and sofa

SmallSoupcon · 16/04/2025 21:30

Oodie, thick socks and an electric heat pad here!

DareDevil223 · 16/04/2025 21:31

I've been on WLI for over two years and lost 9 stone. I've basically been cold for that length of time!

It is my only real side effect apart from lack of food noise and massive weight loss though so every cloud...

SilenceInside · 16/04/2025 21:34

@ymemanresu it's working superbly for me, I have been taking Mounjaro for 40 weeks and I have lost 7st 11lbs so far. My BMI has gone from 50 to 32. Feeling cold is absolutely not an issue for me given the incredible positive benefits losing all that weight has given me so far.

Cyclingandrunning · 16/04/2025 21:39

I've worn fleeced base layers every day for over a year now..... I also love sitting in the sun with loads of layers, I feel like I'm defrosting.

Ruthietuthie · 16/04/2025 21:42

Just complaining to my husband that I am SO COLD. I am here, in layers, under two blankets. My son is sitting on the floor wearing a t-shirt and shorts. I am freezing (especially my icy fingers).
I have lost 60lbs and do have much less fat, but I have been cold all the way through. Maybe this means I will cope better with the summer heat, which has been intolerable to me since I began peri-menopause? (Certainly won't be showing off my new weight loss in skimpy clothes... I might perish).

That’s amazing, well done!

TourangaLeila · 16/04/2025 21:47

I am also in the chilly club! 😂

I've bought thermal EVERYTHING! We camp a lot and I am always cold camping anyway. I am preparing well for our first trip in May, or I may well turn into an icicle 😂

For work I have a heated foot muffunder my desk, a blanket for my knees, thermal top and hoodie plus fingerless gloves and a hat when I'm not on camera! Also have a small oil radiator for the room.

Still get chilly, especially hands and feet 😂

SevernWonders · 16/04/2025 21:50

Same, week 46 for me and still cold (although I was always a chilly person). 6 and a half stone down. I'll take being cold any day for that weight loss that I was never able to achieve before.
