Mounjaro and Botox

This will not be a debate on Botox and whether or not people agree with it, and whether or not it looks good. Done subtly and well, by an expert practitioner, it does look good. So let’s extend the lack of judgyness from the WLI board to this post!
I’m looking a bit wrinkly. Definitely not because of Mounjaro … I only started on Wednesday. But looking at my crows’ feet, I’d be looking to get Botox right about now. I haven’t had it in a year. I’m 50.
I’m a bit hesitant in case Mounjaro somehow makes it wear off faster. Also, I’m at the start of this journey. Is it worth doing it a bit further down the line when my face is no longer padded by fat?!
Not sure what to do for the best and I’d love to hear from those who have had Botox while on Mounjaro.
Thank you.

I’ve had botox on and off for a few years to correct a slightly droopy eyebrow, so just in one concentrated area. Started MJ in December and haven’t noticed any difference.

I've seen a few aestheticians comment on Insta that they're finding people on Mounjaro are coming in quicker and Botox is wearing off very quickly. I'm sure there are exceptions but as Ive never had it before but i feel i need it, I've decided to wait until I'm either off Mounjaro or back down to a very low dose.

I wonder if it’s less that the Botox is wearing off sooner and more that because of the weight loss, new saggy skin and wrinkles are going to appear no matter what?

I’m planning to get some Botox as soon as I finish the WLI! Deffo seeing new lines

I’ve noticed since I’m losing weight I’m noticing wrinkles I’ve never had before, mid 30s not had Botox for a few years now I’m definitely booking in, I think the fat pads your face out more and when you lose weight it’s obviously more noticeable

AlwaysCoffee25 · 05/04/2025 07:57

I imagine if it does wear off quicker it’s the fat loss in the face rather than the Botox itself being less effective.

I must admit as the weight is going one amazing side effect has been the fat on my upper eyes seems to be shifting ! I always thought I’d need bleph because of my droopy eyelids and don’t get me wrong they still aren’t perfect but they definitely look less on mounjaro!
on the other side I feel my crows feet definitely stand out more with the weight loss so been thinking about Botox too .. first time at 50 so a late starter

I've been having botox in my forehead for 2 years and been on mounjaro for 9 months. I've lost 4.5 stone. Haven't noticed any impact on my botox whatsoever.

Aruss710 · 07/05/2025 22:44

Hey! It has happened for me I can usually go 4 months im going back in a lot sooner, also the pigment in my semi permanent brows has also disappeared. Not sure if it’s metabolism or? I was on M for 9 weeks the hair loss was also unbelievable! Although I lost 1.5 stone it wasn’t worth what else I was loosing

According to drugs.com there is no know interaction between the 2 drugs so no it shouldn't directly affect the botox however as others and you have said the loss of fat might make you a bit more wrinkly due to lose skin

Wallywobbles · 08/05/2025 07:28

I’m a slow looser and I did notice my neck got really wrinkly. I’m in my 50s so just thought this is life. But it is improving. So maybe see how things go. Enjoy the weight loss and try to ignore the rest for a while. I’ve also changed my googles because I wondered if they were making my eye bags worse.

I'm not a pharmacist but I don't see how the two drugs could interact to make the body metabolise the Botox faster. I think it's more likely that new wrinkles are due to the loss of volume of either fat or muscle under the skin, and I imagine you would want the judicious use of filler to address this.
