What’s on your Mounjaro shopping list?

I’ve decided that this coming Wednesday will be my first injection day and I want to get prepared Smile
I envisage eating a fair bit of salad, eggs, chicken, tinned tuna … as well as protein oats, Greek yogurt and frozen fruit for overnight oats.
I’m not a cheese fan, so that won’t be on my list in any form.
What are your ‘must haves’ while on Mounjaro? I’m not a big cook but it would be really useful to pick up some ideas.
Thanks.

Oh, and my main supermarkets are Tesco and Lidl, in case you know of any gems there.

We went UPF free about a month before we started so my shopping list didn't really change.

I have Greek yoghurt with some fruit and chia seed in the morning, lunch and a family dinner.

I don't tend to snack anymore. I try and have protein and fibre at every meal.

It depends what you ate before really.ive tried to avoid upf protein bars etc but some people like those.

Lots of fruit and veg and real food.

I really don't think I've got any "must haves" or cravings just think it's good tk get Into habits you want long term, so cook meals you enjoy cooking and could do long term rather than seeing it as a "diet".

I did find for me in the very first week I ate a lot less (not everyone is affected first week) and in general my portion sizes are smaller.

I live off chicken thighs and frozen veg. I airfry 2 chicken thighs with some flavouring (bbq/ garlic butter/ peri peri/ salt and chilli). Microwave half a bowl of frozen veg and chop the chicken on top. It's delicious and healthy. I have this most days.

My second meal is salmon and frozen cauliflower cheese, both done in the airfryer for 20mins.

Egg and toast for brunch.

I've kind of gone off eggs on Mounjaro, and my meat consumption is down a lot too. I eat a lot of yogurt, skyr, quark and cheese to still get my protein.

I do eat more salad, but in the first few weeks, I was struggling with anything too acidic (heartburn).

I also eat a lot of soups. Miso soup with rice noodles and chicken gyoza is a nice alternative version of chicken noodle soup in case you fancy something easy.

I’ve also gone off eggs, last time I had them I felt a bit queasy so haven’t had them again since. My favourite food at the moment is roasted tenderstem broccoli. So good for you, and so tasty especially when it’s all crisped up in the oven. I have it with chicken, pork or fish.

A lot of cottage cheese. But I love it so I am overjoyed that the trend for it has reminded me it’s something I love. Greek yoghurt. Frozen fruit (I make a batch of ‘chia fruit’ on a Friday which is a bag of frozen fruit and chia seeds cooked up into a compote then chuck in the fridge and have with the yoghurt.

i have mostly gone off sweet stuff but have a box of gut stuff bars which are compressed nut, fruit and seed bars. They have a lot of fibre and I think are ufp free (I can’t see any nasties on the ingredients list). Taste nice, not cheap but I got a box from Amazon after trying them when they were on offer in Tesco.

Eggs and smoked salmon😂 Oh and chicken and salmon fillets. But we are all different and all like different things! (No salads till summer here! Hate yoghurt/ smoothies/ protein shakes/ bars etc! But they work for many🤷‍♀️)

Nuts are a good way to get something in when you're not hungry too.

shrinkingthiswinter · 30/03/2025 14:09

Psyllium husk, Huel bars, eggs, protein powder, M&S protein yoghurts, herbal tea, blueberries, coconut water (obsessed with the last two).

But basically I eat a fraction as much as before so not much shopping.

Oh and smaller clothes.

Have a look at the fat butcher. I have been getting better quality and cheaper than Tesco.
