Hi,

I've been on my weightloss journey for some time. Lost 3 stone through diet and exercise and really struggled to lose more.

I put some weight on, struggled with cravings so decided to try mounjaro.

I'm 5 pens in, just ordered my 6th and upped the dose to 10mg and only lost 1st 8lbs in that time. That's from beginning November, (with a big loss in my first week of mounjaro).

What am I doing wrong ? I eat in region of 1200 calories a day. I try to exercise but not as much due to time.
I'm only grateful that at least the weights not going back on. I have the odd treat but I count everything.

Any ideas/ tips /advice ?

@MrsSlocombesCatthat’s not correct. There’s been no evidence whatsoever of thyroid cancer in humans after using Mounjaro. As a precaution, due to one result in tests with rodents, if you have a family history of some very specific types of thyroid cancer then the advice is not to take Mounjaro. But even then, it may be clinically appropriate if you are severely obese and/or have uncontrolled diabetes.

You shouldn't be taking weight loss medication if you have a thyroid issue. You could end up with thyroid cancer.

According to the NHS I don’t have a thyroid issue.

I don’t think 1200 calories is that shocking if you are short in height.

@Hundredthmillionthdiet Your journey will never be the same as someone else's

Im same height as you but 20 years older and started at your weight now - not injections - and it took me 15 months to get to Healthy BMI - and Im managing to maintain ( year so far )

For me a good loss is 1 pound a week - sometimes say if Ive been really really active I might get 2 pound loss - but those weeks are rare and lots of weeks I sts . But I don't look at the week, I look at my weight loss graph and see a line that lowered - over all. I also see that yes I do have times in the year where weight goes on - Christmas , a week away , and I see times in the year when loss is better - between now and September - longer days, drier if we are lucky - Im more likely to get outside and get the steps up or cycle.

You have to look at what you have done overall. And you have done so well. The closer you are to your target it is harder, injections or otherwise, which is why I throw in two fast days - I do eat and drink, but its mainly plant and protein - those days its no carbs, no alcohol etc. So I actually eat loads, but nothing that is calorie dense - protein will be cottage cheese, tinned fish, lentils and beans
