I’ve been on this for about 8 months. 4 stone to lose and not even managed 2 stones yet. It is of course working but so so slowly. I’m at 15mg and by day 4 post jab I’m hungry again. Why so different to others losing so quickly!!! I think my body must be hardcore and determined to hold its weight and stick a finger up to Mounjaro. I’ve a dream Caribbean holiday coming up later this year so I’m preserving but so bloody frustrated . So expensive! Rant over. Just venting and hoping for others in same boat?

Losing it more slowly you’ll be more likely to keep it off, slow and steady will be better in the long run.

PineappleCoconut · 06/03/2025 21:09

I'm 6.5 months in and just reached 2.5 stone down.
Disappointed when comparing myself to others, but I'm still considerably lighter than I was. And it's starting to be noticeable in clothes falling down Blush

I find my progress can be static for a while, deep into perimenopause and when I'm late I hold onto weight stubbornly. Unfortunately this can sometimes be a month or two.

Don't compare yourself to others.
You are losing. This is good. You will still be several stone lighter by your holiday

Maybe consider splitting your doses into 2 every 3/4 days if you are feeling hungry by day 4?

FannyBawz · 06/03/2025 21:11

What are you eating? Keep your insulin levels steady! Cut down carbs if necessary

RememberDecember · 06/03/2025 21:28

Have you changed what you are eating?

Mysticmaiden · 06/03/2025 23:17

Drink lots of water, eat high protein and low carbs. 5 day half life is normal so you will feel hungry around then

GoldfinchesInTheTree · 07/03/2025 06:26

When you stay 4 stone to lose.. Is that to get into a healthy bmi or are you trying to lose more? It is really slow after around bmi 30.

PurpleCoo · 07/03/2025 07:03

Are you tracking your food and sticking to reduced calories and a low fat diet? Are you exercising?

I'm sticking to 12-1400 calories a day and eating all homemade healthy meals from scratch, no processed food, etc, walking 15000 steps a day and swimming 2-3 hours a week. I have lost 4.5kg in 3 weeks this way

Depending on what weight you were to begin with wouldn’t you have lost that amount anyway

Doggymummar · 07/03/2025 07:14

Come join us on the plodders thread, at least you will be with people like you. Most of us are losing v slowly like a pound a month, but it all adds up.

Yes and no. In the past, when I have been able to follow this regime absolutely yes. However, in the last few years, due to hormones/peri and having constant intense feelings of hunger and cravings, I haven't been able to put into practice the healthy lifestyle.

Mounjaro allows me to put into practice what I already know how to do intellectually and from past experience/knowledge/good practice

PurpleCoo · 07/03/2025 07:23

@Yalta Also to add, the only changes to my exercise have been to consistently add an extra 1 hour swim to me routine. The rest is my usual pattern of exercise for many years

Hiddencomic · 07/03/2025 07:53

Yes I’m mid 40s so likely in peri menopause hell! Def cutting back on carbs as they cling to me like glue. I eat a lot of protein yogurts/eggs/quorn as I don’t eat meat. Really struggle with drinking lots of water though (loads of tea..but does that not count?!) hard to fit exercise in, life is crazy busy and I’m exhausted all the time. Had bloods checked a few times but come back ok. Oh and I’ve got endo and possibly pcos too! I know I shouldn’t compare but it’s hard not to.

In mounjaro clinical trials people lost about 20% of their body weight in 40 weeks. It’s actually quite slow for many if you work it out. OP’s weight loss of 2 stone in 8 months is JUST under a pound a week, which whilst not fast, is not especially slow when you consider healthy weight loss is 1-2lbs per week. People have unrealistic - even dangerous - expectations.

Obviously if you cut your calorie intake even further you would lose faster - but that may or may not be healthy depending on what your calorie intake is now? There is a lot of information you don’t give OP - your general health, your current calorie intake, your activity levels, how MJ is working in terms of suppression, so it’s hard to say what may be happening.

ShouttotheTopSong · 07/03/2025 09:38

Just noticed you do mention some health conditions in your latest post, eg pcos, so could be why. I get why you feel it’s unfair somehow. I have some health issues, plus my age, which means I lose slowly too. Obviously if I was very young, active, with perfect health, I would lose weight faster, but that is not the reality! I think you should acknowledge and celebrate 🏆 your 2 stone loss.

Tranquilitybaby · 07/03/2025 09:44

Are you tracking what you eat so you know you’re in calorie deficit? Are you eating enough protein, likely over 100g a day if you had 4 stone to lose.

the way I look at it, it’s a tool, not a miracle cure. You started and you’re halfway towards your goal, you should be proud of yourself for that. It’s hard when you see others losing much faster but chances are they may struggle to keep it off when they stop. Hopefully with yours being slower, it’s more sustainable long-term. X

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 07/03/2025 12:07

What is your calorie deficit?

ApolloandDaphne · 07/03/2025 12:29

I have been on it for 5 months and lost 2 stone. I have gone from obese to overweight and my clothes look better on me. Overall i feel so much better about myself and I am happy losing slowly.

Doggymummar · 07/03/2025 12:31

Just back from the hairdresser's. She is over the moon to have lost 4lb since September, as far as I know she is not getting any help, and it made me think how skewed I have this in my head.

I’d be almost 3 stone loss at your rate which I would be happy with! I’ve not even hit 2 stone yet, just under. I will persevere. I’ve done a calc for weight loss and it suggests around 1300 for 1 pound a week or 860 for 2 pounds a week loss. I prob average about 900-1000 (I only ate about 1500/1600 before (which by same calc put me on 0.5 lb loss a week not gain like is reality !) my body just loves to retain. Thank you for all support though it does help 😀

Consider reducing mg but injecting every 4 days

Mumtobabyhavoc · 07/03/2025 16:38

Slow weight loss is best for a few reasons including better chance it will last and, depending on how overweight you are, more time for your skin to adjust. Do make sure you exercise with weights as you go for the very best results. Doesn't have to be hardcore weight training.

WorriedRelative · 07/03/2025 16:55

The PCOS is probably the culprit. There is some evidence that people with PCOS and insulin resistance need higher doses than those without.

fatgirlswims · 07/03/2025 18:48

What was your start weight and BMI?

What's your goal weight.going from BMI 38 TO BMI 27 is vastly different to 31 to 24.

Do you use nutracheck and count calories to

Rockdaylia44 · 08/03/2025 15:46

Start of my 3rd week not loss 1lb 🥲🥲
