This might seem like an odd question but does your supplier charge VAT (and which supplier is it)?

TIA

I thought prescriptions, both NHS and private, were exempt from VAT?

I understand from a tax lawyer friend it is a little more nuanced than that so I was wondering what the suppliers were actually doing.

Perhaps your tax lawyer friend might be best placed to ask about this, in that case.

Certainly the two pharmacies I've used and all the ones I've looked at for price comparison don't add vat to the prices quoted. (I have gone through several to the point of almost paying in order to apply discount codes and see delivery charges etc).

We are both lawyers and were considering the position under the tax code as it isn't wholly clear (yes we probably need a hobby). So we wondered what the companies selling the jabs were doing irl. Thanks for your responses.

My supplier's invoice shows £1.17 VAT which I assume is associated with the delivery charge only.

Thank you!
