Moving from Morrisons

I have been on Morrison's for two months (2.5mg and 5mg) but it's really too expensive. I see so many offers and discounts on Medexpress. Is it easy to shift to Medexpress? Would they start with a 7.5mg when I first sign up? What are some of the best codes to use? I hate change in general so struggling with the shift!

Best prices are on the comparison website www.monj.co.uk - find the cheapest price for the dose you want and scroll to the right for the code.

To start with a new supplier on anything above 2.5, you'll need a photo of your previous prescription as proof.

You need to go through all the online consultation questions with the new supplier but it's 5 mins work that will potentially save you tens of pounds.

Totototo · 03/03/2025 17:22

So easy, just follow the instructions.

mjcosy · 03/03/2025 17:36

Is Medexpress the best option right now? I see cheaper ones on the Monj website but looks like everyone here is on it?

When you order on Med Express for the first time you can usually get a £40 off code. Then you get given a referral code so you can get £40 off when someone uses your code. This means every person and their dog has a referral code and posts it everywhere.

It's perfectly fine to order from any of the legitimate pharmacies (as per the website I shared), there's really no "better" or "worse", at least not until you're under 30 BMI or heading into maintenance. Get the best price available to you.

Totototo · 03/03/2025 18:20

Use up as many as the intro codes as you can on the lower doses but once you are in the higher dose range Levity (an off shoot of med express) offers all doses for £195.00 a month so even with the intro offers Levity is the best price on higher doses.

SilenceInside · 03/03/2025 18:26

I think a lot of people sign up to MedExpress because they hope lots of people will use their referral code and so they will get several £40 off bonuses and so greatly reduce the costs. But it depends on people actually using your code. No guarantee of that especially when the promo code board is saturated with them.

There are plenty of other providers who are just always cheap, without the need to chase referrals.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 03/03/2025 18:30

@Totototo really?? I can count 15 pharmacies who offer 15mg for less than £195 before any discount (and some are permanently low!)

SilenceInside · 03/03/2025 18:34

£195 for all doses? So for the 2.5mg pens as well? That's a shockingly high price.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 03/03/2025 18:36

I won’t use MedExpress on principle because I find their pyramid structure of discount codes incredibly unethical but I’m aware I’m in a minority on this.

You might want to check your numbers here - Medicine Marketplace have 15mg for £145 with p&p just as one example. There are plenty more.

I agree with you - I think it’s wrong and it’s so annoying when you get loads of people going “use my code for £40 off”.

I can’t use medicine market place because I have Hashimotos they won’t prescribe to me.

Give us their names and if a dr or pharmacist prescribes I need a dr to prescribe mine or a company that doesn’t screen you out because you have thyroid problems.

I didn’t use them for lower doses only the 15mg ones.

I’m sorry to hear that but that’s very specific to you and wasn’t your original claim about Levity.

That's exactly my concern as well and the reason I didn't use them do begin with. I know it's the same product but I feel safer ordering from a physical company with an actual pharmacy.

Totototo · 03/03/2025 18:54

So long as they are registered online pharmacy no need to worry I forgot about medicine market place I did try them and got rejected and when I contacted CS it was because of my specific hashimotos disorder but they were the cheapest.

Don’t pay over £200 and not that I am encouraging you but most of us drain the remnants and get an extra dose from the pens too. Just need to order needles and syringes.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 03/03/2025 20:39

@Totototo try smaller pharmacies such as Pharmulous, Oushk and The Family Chemist where an actual human will speak to you rather than a ‘computer says no’ situation. Dr Mel is medical director and Pharmulous and is an NHS gp. All 15 I mentioned earlier are listed on monj.co.uk

@VelociraptorsVelociRapping you are not alone re medexpress. Wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole!

You need to start your own thread Madcat1964. This thread is not about that.

Probably best to start your own thread, but yes you can. I have Hashimoto's disease with an underactive thyroid. I got my first pen from Medino, next three pens from IQ doctor, and have just moved over to Simple as I'm approaching maintenance. All three of those have no issue prescribing with an underactive thyroid.
