Hi, i would like to read womens/mens positive stories from doing mounjaro. I've ordered my first injection pen. I am looking at trying to lose just over two stone more towards 2.5 stone. This is so I'm comfortable in myself and to be honest to make me feel a lot better about myself. I've never been a small shape or frame woman even in my younger years currently 36. I have no health conditions not on any medication. I have a active life I enjoy walking i walk anywhere ha. So yeah to see peoples progress on this would be great. Thank you.

You'll probably be better posting this on the weight loss injections thread, you'll get answers there.

Lost a stone in last 7 weeks. 2lb a week consistent. Makes me feel full so not eating as much and calorie counting alongside it. (1400 a day)

family member lost 4 stone on it last year and looks incredible!

Wow that's brilliant, I've been thinking about it for a few months now. Just wasn't sure what was the best injection for me as there's a few. I'm hoping to be somewhere happy with my weight in 6 months. But going off what I've read then seems like it's very possible to reach it. I'm so happy you've both had positive outcomes and are doing really well. So with the calorie intake is it a deficit or?

If you are only looking to lose 2/2.5 stone are you obese to begin? You shouldn't be taking it unless you are starting from a high bmi, the evidence around side effects is less clear at lower weights.

Ive lost 5 stone on it in 6 months, i have 1 stone left to my goal. Starting weight was 15 stone, BMI 35, clothing size 22. I dont track calories as i honestly dont have the time to faff with things like that. I make the same meals for my family i did before, i just eat a much smaller portion, and focus on eating protein and veg first as i feel full sooner. I dont snack at all really now, and i have reduced calorie intake from drinks a lot as i drank alot of calories pre MJ. I have had some nasty side effects, particularly when i moved up from 7.5mg to 10mg, so i dropped back down. My biggest advice is dont rush through increasing doses, make sure you have good fluid intake, eat you meals so protein and nutritionally high foods are first but dont ignore carbs entirely, and dont compare your losses to other people, we all lose at different rates even with MJ.

There is a whole board on the subject!

Finallydoingit24 · 26/02/2025 08:01

There’s loads of threads you can read on this board but my own experience so far is that I started five weeks ago today. So far I have lost 18 and a half pounds. I have another 22 to go but I’m impressed with it so far.

My bmi is just over 30. Losing the 2.5 stones means I'm just under my ideal weight. And means I'll be the smallest I've been in well forever really. I don't want to go down past a certain weight as my natural build will make me look odd. My target goal is 10.5 stone. I just want to lose the weight I couldn't shift in the gym daily for some reason it wasn't moving. I'm not a big eater. I'm finding shifting the baby weight really hard. I walk daily exceeding my 10,000 steps on days I can touch 16,000 to 20,000 and still nothing changes. I'm not going to be on the higher doses as I believe I don't need to be.

You won't know how you react to the medication so there's no guarantee you won't need to be on the higher doses. You might find that it takes those higher doses to produce a reasonable rate of weight loss. The only way you will lose weight is by being in a calorie deficit, the GLP-1 injections make that more possible to achieve and to maintain for long enough periods of time to lose weight to move from obese to healthy weight.

Walking won't necessarily be burning enough calories to produce weight loss through a net calorie deficit, and clearly isn't, if you aren't losing weight at the moment.
