I've been to see doctor today. She says I'm on the cusp for using this method. My bmi is 37! I wad hoping to use this whilst coming of Mirtazapine slowly.
I'm not sure about trying private because she said you can only get Wygovy? in uk.
Not sure what to do now as my weight is affecting every part of my life.

If you can afford it, consider getting a prescription privately from one of the many online providers, either for Mounjaro or Wegovy.

You aren't eligible for it on the NHS. You can get Wegovy or mounjaro on private prescription at your BMI.

Go private. You can get mounjaro everywhere. You should have a look at the weight loss injection board - there’s heaps of information there.

Weight gain can be a side effect of mirtazapine, I put on a lot of weight when on it and have always lost it easily once I'm off it. Don't know if it's the same for you, but possibly the problem. You're not going to get mounjaro or wegovy on the NHS, it's really limited what you can get it for, but should be able to get it privately.

I’ve brought both on private prescription over the past year.
My provider prescribes either on the basis of actual weight loss.

This weeks Woman’s magazine referenced the nhs will only recommend prescribing the injections through specialist weight management clinics from Spring this year.

I have a private prescription for ozempic in the uk, the constant I saw could guarantee the supply of that when I started, and it's working so I don't want to switch.

It’s a personal decision but frankly I would rather pay privately in your shoes just so I can start the medication immediately and can start losing weight sooner. Sure, the NHS is cheaper, but given your GP said you are on the cusp, I imagine it would take months and several appointments and interventions before you would be able to start on the NHS if at all.

I had that issue of Woman and read that four page spread. Im not on these injections but found it an interesting read
Agree with Sharon Osbourne that some young people will go "berserk on it"
