MJ - which dose worked for you?

I'm still on 5mg and feeling the effects wearing off by day 2 and can't wait to move to 7.5mg. Just wondering what everyone's dosing schedule was like and which dose worked for them and was stuck to for a while?
A bit nervous about moving up too fast, as there is no where to go after 15mg.

Disclaimer - I know nothing about diabetes dosing and you could well be right but I have never seen anyone else say this so am curious.

Sorry, the app is not allowing me to open links at the mo😡 but the only one of the ones you have quoted that says you can’t stay on 7.5 or 12.5 is the Beds one (your county?). EL have confused many by using the term ‘maintenance’ for some doses. They actually only trialled those 3 doses for weight loss (financial reasons I assume). No idea what they did for diabetes.

I shall read more. Thanks for the info😁

@IReallyNeedThisToWork the Bedfordshire one was just the first fact sheet I found online, these ones also say the .5 doses are for titration purposes only t get you t9 the next maintenance dose and that they recommend sticking at 5mg as long as possible.

I'm in the UK and my provider says the same.

2.5 is just a loading dose. 5 10 and 15 are the stable doses they are happy for you to stay on.

The aim is to stay on the lowest stable dose you need.

I've not seen anywhere tell you to whiz up the doses each month-If anything the opposite so there's always somewhere to go.

For clarification this is for weight loss not for diabetes!

I'm midway through my first 5mg and struggling a bit with side effects so am relieved to be staying on it another month at least.

I guess I am nervous with so much to lose (10stone) of it plataeuing.

SurreyisSunny · 22/02/2025 13:58

I did 4 weeks on both 2:5 and 5. I then did 12 weeks on 7.5. I’m now on 10 and not noticing much difference (2.5 weeks so far). I lost the most weight on 5 and 7.5mg

Im reluctant to go too much higher as I get quite bad side effects

I’ve been on 2.5mg for 3 months and am consistently losing 2lb a week which is as much as I want to lose.

This is great. This is exactly what I want to do. Lose weight slowly and keep side effects to a minimum. I am only on W2D2, but it just feels perfect. No side effects, suppression enough to not want big meals or to snack, but I just walked 8 miles and came back hungry, as I should do! Was also really hungry after swimming and a walk, and ate extra that day. It's just enough to let me stick to a healthy eating plan, that I just can't manage without the meds

mounjaromarc · 22/02/2025 14:34

2.5mg and 10mg

I spent 5mg putting half the weight back on that I lost from 2.5mg. 7.5 just kept me flat.

GoldfinchesInTheTree · 22/02/2025 15:35

@mounjaromarc how long have you been on 10 for? Has it kept working?

I had hoped to stay on 5 for a good while but if Ive. only lost a pound this week then it might not be working. It feels like it is in that I'm eating less!
