Best app for tracking everything

claudia1994 · 22/02/2025 10:19

I'm 11 weeks in and have lost quite a bit (not really weighing myself very often but fitting into old clothes). However, its all a bit ad hoc - eating less, exercising more and IF when I can.

Decided that I should try to track things and wondered which app would be best for tracking calories, exercise, fasting and weight - does one exist?

I wear a Fitbit, which I find very accurate to track my TDEE, and use the Fitbit app to track calories.

MyFitnessPal - you can track calories in and add calories out from exercise. Set a daily calorie goal. Weight and measurements if you want. I also use it to track macros - protein, carbs, fat. Mainly to make sure I’m getting enough protein. It’s made me realise just how much effort I need to put in to get to my protein goal, but it does make every meal very filling.
You can add other daily goals eg fibre, water.
I’ve used it to reset habits/portion sizes in the past, and I’m using it on WLI to make sure I’m getting enough calories as I could easily go to bed after only 800 calories and end up exhausted the next day.

I use nutra check, has done for a few years now (on and off) I find it very simple to use

Fitbit for steps and Myfitnesspal for calories/exercise tracking and you can also post photos of yourself on there for reference (all private of course)

Nutracheck is very good. I think it's about £5 a month but it's UK based and has a barcode which makes things easier. Lots of other bits on there like measurements and a forum. I've used it for years.

I did try and use MyFitnessPal but found it a bit clunky and overwhelming. I like Nutracheck for it's simplicity.

I used to use MyFitnessPal but found it hard as there were lots of duplicated and inaccurate products so switched to Nutracheck and find it much easier.

I like bodystasia.com because it's only women and fully anonymous. no food logs though, just activity, weight and pics

TreesOfGreen99 · 29/09/2025 13:53

MyNetDiary - there’s a free version, but it only cost around £25 for a year.
Has scanner function for barcodes, take a photo and it works out the calories (and offers suggestions for food it’s not sure of), tracks your weight and tracks as many food types as you want eg carbs, protein, fibre etc.
Also has suggested menus for different diet types and an online chat community.

I use MyFitnessPal and it links through to my Garmin watch and my RenPho scales. So that all together covers steps, sleep, weight, period, calories and food composition.

I use Nutracheck. It doesn’t cost much and makes it very easy to track food intake.i track everything I eat and add my weight to watch progress on the graph

MidnightOtter · 29/09/2025 15:36

I like Noom. You have to pay. But there no adverts and it’s super user friendly. Very simple annd attractive interface. I find the others very jagged somehow and over complex.

smilingfanatic · 30/09/2025 09:35

Another myfitnesspal user here, but only because it's been on my phone for YEARS and has weight data from as far back as 2011. It's free and works well for me in terms of tracking everything.

MissFizzyPop · 30/09/2025 10:36

I use Nutracheck, linked to my Garmin watch.
