Anyone else had reduced joint pain anywhere?

for years, at least 12, I have had pain in my knees when going up and down stairs, sometimes even doing the clutch in the car.

but now… it’s completely gone.

I live in a bungalow so hadn’t noticed till I was at my mil house and went up the stairs .. it took me by surprise as I braced myself for the pain, but nada!

I then proceeded that night to lay in bed lifting my leg up and bending my knee, much to the amusement of my husband 🤣

iv only been on it 5 weeks - amazing!

The drug is clinically proven to reduce inflammation in the body, hence why so many people are having improved markers which were previously due to inflammation, so quickly.

Yep - my plantar fasciitis was gone by about day 3 on MJ - and I didn't lose weight that quickly! Must have been inflamed joints/tissue - just amazing really, that that's what it took to make such a huge difference!

Have gone off alcohol. Just don't fancy it any more.

And you seriously consider that as a positive side effect?
Think of all the long dry years ahead.
😉😁😁😁.

i have read a lot into before taking took me a good 6 months or so to decide to go on it. Yes there is good initial stuff coming out but all very similar to positives of loosing weight in my opinion as well. I’m not arguing it doesn’t assist or improve other issues people know a lot more than I do, but a lot of the issues helps improve (not everything) also is improved by weight loss. The article states about heart health etc which we all know is improved with lower weight. Surprised it mentioned joint pain increasing as I have read about anti-inflammatory benefits as others have stated.

It’s about to be approved for the treatment of cardio vascular and kidney disease, and in trials for Alzheimer’s, it’s already proven to reduce inflammation, (which is partly why it supports Alzheimer’s) it is widely recognised this is signifantly more than an appetite suppressant.

And the benefits are not simply due to weight loss, if it was, it would not be approved for other medical conditions.

im also surprised at the joint pain, as mine hugely decreased, I could kneel within a week, and I’d only lost a couple of pounds, my stomach also started shrinking back fairly immediately.

So has mine! This is the biggest plus at the moment, frankly...! I've had PF for well over 10 years - have had steroid injections, electric shock treatment, physio etc. etc. Accepted I'll just always be in pain and have to wear very specific shoes - and it had gone within a few days of being on Mounjaro. I'm 6 weeks in and still can't believe it 🙂

Also, my IBS has completely gone - also miraculous for me - a massive life changer as I can now go out and not worry about where the nearest loo is.

The weight loss is going well, but the 2 things above are why I'm really happy at the moment 😍

Same with IBS for me. It's not completely better but wow it's a marked difference. The imodium savings alone offset a bit of the Mounjaro costs.
This one is a bit dark but I used to self harm when I was younger. I haven't done it in 20 odd years now but have thought about it very often when stressed - similar to an alcoholic thinking about but not having a drink. The noise was particularly loud during lockdown. I realised the other day that it's not something I've thought about at all since starting Mounjaro. It's part of the reason I'm so interested in the current research for alcoholism. There's clearly a lot it can do to help with addictions, impulse control, unhealthy rewards etc.

I've had several people now tell me their IBS has completely gone after being on it.
As someone who has suffered half my life I'm rather jealous it's helping so many people with their gut issues.

I thought it was just me, or a coincidence!

Day 1 of week 2 only, and it’s massively improved, in fact it seems to be gone. After 30 years.

Yay for MJ!

PS Sorry you are still suffering btw - I should have acknowledged that straight away!

Previous daily wine drinker, sometimes rather too much, now gone off all alcohol completely. Just could not be bothered. Formerly eagerly-awaited" wine o'clock" is of no interest now.

Hot flushes and night sweats totally gone, and I am no longer looking like a tit walking around in a short-sleeved cotton shirt while everyone else is in layers of wool (I've had ten years of that since menopause, HRT didn't control that at all).

OddBoots · 04/04/2025 11:51

I hope it is okay to have a really left of field positive - the pens come in a natural wool package for insulation and I have just pegged some of the wool out on the fence and out of my window I can see birds taking it away for their nests!

SilenceInside · 04/04/2025 12:05

@OddBoots that's brilliant! Thanks for sharing, might do the same myself.

PhantomErik · 04/04/2025 16:11

oddboots thanks for sharing about the wool I was trying to think of a good use for it 😊

PhantomErik · 04/04/2025 16:13

Also, side effects wise, IBS has gone & I feel very calm & uplifted. I'm only on week 1 day 5 but life feels very positive right now.

I did this too... popped it on the prickles of our rose hedge. The dog was very upset to see the crows make off with it!

Deadringer · 04/04/2025 16:16

Weirdly my knee condition is playing up quite badly at the moment, I was blaming the mounjoro for it, but it's probably just a coincidence.

shrinkingthiswinter · 04/04/2025 18:17

So much less pain from day 1. I have had problems in my lower back for 18 years, and it’s so comfortable now! I have even been kayaking. Plantar fasciitis also disappeared immediately, before weight loss kicked in. Those kind of chronic inflammation pains seem to respond astonishingly well to the drug.

yes. the anti inflammatory effects are medically
documented. it has helped me with joint pain a lot too.

WongKarCry · 04/04/2025 18:19

My neck pain has gone but I imagine it’s a result of less weight on it than the MJ having some magical effect.
