Mounjaro “golden dose”

I’m just wondering how you have all managed to get your 5th dose from the pen? I’ve just ordered some insulin needles - 8mm 1ml 30G. I’ve seen others using 32G, will a 30G be fine to use for the golden dose?

That is exactly the kind of guidance we shouldn't follow. How is that dose measured? Would you be injecting a correct 0.6ml dose? Or more and risking side effects? Or less and having insufficient therapeutic effects? Who knows?

The op asked "how do we get the 5th dose from the pen"? This is how I do it but I agree this is no good if you are micro dosing and if need a measurement, the rest of us who just step up to the next pen and just want to save £30, then just use the needle they provide. I can't be arsed with playing doctor.

Even if you aren't bothered about measuring the dose, which I maintain you should be as you won't be increasing dose every single month, you still risk introducing contamination by breaking the device apart and using other implements to depress the plunger.

People will always make their own decisions about what they do with medication but "playing doctor" is preferable to introducing more risk in my view
