Starting with low BMI and high cholesterol

I am considering starting on Mounjaro, however I have relatively low BMI 27-28 but high cholesterol. Obv under the standard 30 BMI requirement but I see some places prescribe if you have high cholesterol or other conditions.

How do you prove the cholesterol levels? I checked NHS app and last test I had done was in 2021, but I’m pretty sure it hasn’t come down as been high for 20 years and I have only put in weight since then.

Similar BMI to you and high cholesterol. My first order was through Asda and they didn’t ask for any proof. My 2nd was from Med Express and they asked for screen shots of my cholesterol levels. My screenshots were from about 9 months ago.

Thanks @JoJoyorker, I’m wondering if I’m going to need to get the test redone or try to find which pharmacies don’t ask for proof. Seems a little crazy that they don’t ask though!

I went with Numan exactly the same as you although I do take meds for mine which can easily be proven

Statins are a much more efficient way of lowering cholesterol along with a change of diet.
I reduced my cholesterol from 6.9 to 4.2 in 3 months. I am currently controlling calorie intake healthily and slowly reducing my BMI without the unpleasant side effects associated with WLI. The current clamp down is the result of a significant increase, 17k in 4 months, in reports of side effects to the MHRA who oversee prescribing.

Current research suggests that statins also reduce the incidents of certain cancers.
I would have your cholesterol checked and discuss ways of reducing it with either statins or diet.

@MsPug did you have to provide proof of high cholesterol to Numan?

Edited

Statins you need to be on for life and have their own issues, much better to lose weight and reduce your cholesterol without going this route.

I'm with MedExpress they didn't ask for any evidence, though I see PP upthread was.

@Lighterlilly those are my thoughts on statins too, I’d rather avoid if possible, or at least delay starting if they are a lifelong medication.
