Is it worthwhile if only about 15/20lbs to lose?

I very much technically qualify because of my ethnicity, but by looks (so if they ask for photos) I think they'll probably reject me.

Plus I don't think I eat that much? But could definitely help to reduce the alcohol.

I just want to shift those 15/20lbs that I have been able to lose since I had my second baby.

If you qualify and it will help you, then go ahead. If you can lose the weight without MJ, then go ahead.
If you can't, then get MJ since you qualify.
If by your ethnicity your weight is considered obese then it doesn't matter if you look it or not.

Only you can decide what's worth it.

Make sure you research them fully.

You need to balance up the health benefits vs side effects/potentially long term cost to maintain the loss. If you plan to use short term are you committed to ongoing changes to maintain to make sure you don't regain.

I have a lot to lose so my current plan is to maintain with help from WLI for probably 2 years (1 year to lose, 1 year to maintain) to try to embed new habits, then review. I started severely obese so the signification benefits to my health vs the side effects/cost which I can afford was a no brainer for me. I can see it would be a much harder decision for you.

Good luck whatever you decide.

I was once able to lose 70lbs on my own! That was 8 years ago. Realistically I only needed to lose 50lbs, so maintained that loss for a year or so. Then I got pregnant and gained 30lbs, and was able to lose 10 of those. At 155lbs/70kg I'm exactly the same weight when I was 15, and still 40lbs lighter than at my heaviest, so I think my body just likes being this weight.

I fluctuate around 5lbs but that's about it, no mater what I do eat, or train, it won't go any lower than that.

Mounjaro mainly helps you losing weight by suppressing your appetite, so if you don't lose weight "no matter what you eat" it is possible MJ will not shift any weight. If could make you eat MUCH less than you have tried before but that would be difficult to maintain longer term.

There are some thoughts that MJ can additionally help with improving insulin functions, effects on metabolism or it might shift how/where your body stores fat. I noticed within 2 weeks my swollen ankles had disappeared, think that was because it works on water retention/inflammation.

Not trying to put you off trying it, just setting expectations that weight loss might still be slow, but if it is fast you may need to stay on MJ to maintain it.

Thank you!

And that's why I hesitate, as I'm not sure it will actually work.

I have other digestive issues due to iron malabsorption, which makes me retain fluid (mainly around my arms), so maybe it would help with that too?

So many things to consider. I think to many I would be using it for pure aesthetic reasons rather than functional ones.

I also exercise quite a bit and worry of the impact MJ might have on it.

I think you should try it. Your health issues seem like what MJ can help. If after a month or two on it you're not seeing any improvement at all, then you can stop.
