I'm asking for my partner who is overweight 55 and has sleep apnoea . I'm worried about his weight and health . We would not normally consider the injection/ treatment route as a bit scared but I saw a programme today on this and actually think it could work for him .

How do you go about getting this treatment nhs and private , is there a criteria you need to fit into ?

Any advice / experience would be helpful please

It's extremely unlikely you will be able to get weight loss injections on the NHS. You would need to be referred to the specialist weight loss management service, which will likely have a long waiting time of many months. Then you would need to work through the "tiers" of treatment, probably for a year each, with Tier 3 being access to weight loss surgery, or rarely, weight loss injections. Very few NHS areas are actually prescribing WLI to people on Tier 3, rather they only offer bariatric surgery.

For private prescriptions, you need a BMI of 30 or over, or a BMI of 27 or over with a weight related health condition, or a BMI of 27 and be one of a list of specific ethnicities . Sleep apnoea would certainly be a weight related health condition.

What is your partner's BMI?

Have a look at monj.co.uk on where to order from and the best prices.

I think his BMI needs to be above 27 if he has sleep apnea.
