Proof of height?

How have people provided evidence of height please? I cannot make an appt with GP just for this and don't have a height chart at home (oddly enough!)

Any thoughts? Thanks!

Can you fix a tape measure to a wall and then take a picture of you standing next to it? Surely whoever is asking you can provide some guidance?

Moier · 20/01/2025 22:13

I only had to hold a piece of paper with the date on and take a photo.. my weight and height was just put in a drop down box.
If they want your height.. just make a paper one and blue tac to a wall? Stand there n take a photo.
Surely you have a ruler or tape measure to mark it?

Be creative: stand next to a stack of coke cans

Is it a provider that is asking for this? Ask them what forms of proof they accept?

I think some of the fancier instore weigh machines automatically record your height now too. Ask them if they accept that. Or could you pay a local pharmacist to do it?

purplepandas · 20/01/2025 22:27

Thanks, I wondered if my GP paid does height too. Not sure. I never thought of printing a height chart and putting on the wall.

Will try GP pod and then chemist first. As yes a provider asking sadly. I don't mind but not so easy so a bit more stuck on that!

Would a Boots weighing scales have it on the print out?

beckaellen · 21/01/2025 04:37

Just to say, I used a boots weighing machine and it said I'm 2 inches shorter than I am. The weighing machine at my leisure centre was more accurate.

Well firstly take a photo of yourself, that will help give a general indication eg petite/average/tall. Maybe take the photo next to something generally comparable like a door frame, cupboards/counters etc. If they insist they need further proof then they probably are wanting 3rd party verification.

You can book an appointment with the nurse instead of a GP. Just tell the nurse you want to check your BMI and talk about weight and obesity. It’s ultimately a health issue and I’m sure they can give you some advice.

Alternatively try the machines at boots, they might also be located at pharmacies and gyms.
