Using codes every time

Hi

I'm thinking hard about whether I can afford this - it's going to be tight unless I can maximise discounts.

So if I have a code one month, can I use someone else's code the next month and so on?

How frequently can I circle back to someone's code? Ie, if my best mate was on it and had a code how often could I use it?

Basically can I use a code every time I order?

(I've now typed code too many times. Everything is code!)

I'd love to just afford it but I can't without paying less than the full price, especially as the doses go us and get more expensive...

Can anyone advise?

Thanks!

I'm not an expert but I think it's only for the first order? Although I guess you can switch providers each month but that sounds crazy...

You have to sign up and create an account, usually linked to your name, DOB and GP practice. You use a welcome discount code for your first purchase but after that, it doesn't let you use another code because the system knows you've used one on that account.

You'd have to sign up for different suppliers or create different accounts but because of the personal ID info/GP info, I don't think it would fly.

SilenceInside · 20/01/2025 16:33

Of course you can change suppliers each month in order to take account of new customer discount codes. Many people do. There's no restriction based on your GP info.

Also, @TragicMuse there's a company called Shemed who are offering £99 a month for 12 months. There are conditions that you need to stick to, like regular check ins and blood tests (done with an easy to use home test that doesn't involve needles - it's called the Tasso) at the start, then at 6 months and 12 months. Might be worth having a look as a way to hold costs down.

TragicMuse · 20/01/2025 16:38

Thanks all, that's really helpful!

Shemed might be affordable if it's fixed for a year...thanks @SilenceInside

I have my diabetes check up next week so I'm going to ask them if they can prescribe - which I'm expecting to be refused! And then ask what the implications would be if I was to order privately, from a pov of what my GP practice would want to do for check-ups etc. and monitoring my current diabetes medication.

Hi, has anyone switched to SheMed from another provider? I brought my first pen from MedExpress, but now wish I had seen the SheMed option before, as it looks far sustainable.

When I just went to look, it asked if I was already on weight loss medication, to which I replied yes (1st pen / 2nd week - 2.5) and then declined me from proceeding any further.

SilenceInside · 20/01/2025 16:59

For the Shemed clinical trial programme which is the £99 a month one, they want people who are not already using weight loss injections. So you can't switch to them for that programme if that's the case. I think they accept you if you've been off it for 28 days, but you'd have to check.

Thanks!

I've done 6 orders and had a discount every time , changed suppliers too. Some discounts significantly better than others though, pharmacy 2 u current offering £60 , some are only £20 , I'm running out of codes now but most offer email incentives to tempt you back with them

IHateMozzies · 20/01/2025 19:57

Usually discounts are for your first order with a new supplier, but some like IQ Doctors, offer a monthly discount. I’ve done Superdrug, Medexpress then IQ Doctor.

Check out monj.co.uk for the best prices.

TragicMuse · 20/01/2025 22:38

Sadly I don't qualify for Shemed. Ah well. Now I don't need to worry about signing up before the end of the month.

I’ve been with Curate for 3 pens having used their 2 discounts listed on the Monj.co.uK website for the first 2 pens with them ( was with med express before) but it wouldn’t let me use any discount for the 3rd one so I left it in my basket . Lo behold next day they sent me a personalised code which took off about 25% I think to take it down to 138 with postage ( 10 mg) . Not sure if the trick will work again but if not I will switch suppliers - it’s not too much of a hassle and I’ve still a way to go, no where near 25 BMI. I’ve never wanted the support so I chase the price generally.
