Sorry if I've spelt it wrong, I could Google, but I'm in too deep now.

I think I might be ND which I'm not sure contributes to my problems with weight and emotional eating.

I managed to lose 6kg in December but since I've put 2kg back on so really only a loss of 4kg and I'm finding it difficult calorie counting and I'm back on binge eating and ordering take aways but I really want to lose weight.

I've joined a gym just to try and be more healthier as I like swimming and the treadmill but I feel like I need more support with the actual eating and wondering if its worth going on weight loss injections.

I can't decide - I'm 110kg and 5 foot 7 for reference, so meet requirements for them.

It’s worth a try. I’ve got three colleagues who started it on 1st January. One disliked the side effects so gave up quickly having lost a couple of pounds. The other two are doing well. My BMI is 25.4 so I don’t qualify because I’m overweight not obese, but I’d like to lose a bit of weight and would take it if I could. I enjoy swimming too!

You might be better asking to move this to the Weight loss injections board as posters complain a lot about MJ chat outside of it.

In fact a visit to the board will give you loads of info and inspiration.

I don't do metric so not sure what your weight is but I started it at the end of May weighing a smidge under 18 stone, I'm now 12 stone 8 (I'm 5' 8").

I knew what to do to lose weight but struggled with food noise and constant hunger, this has been absolutely life changing for me. I have had minimal side effects other than feeling sick when I overdid it on fatty food, and have had a bit of hair loss which can happens on any diet with significant weight loss.

There is a whole topic on here regarding Weight Loss Injections / Treatments. So sorry, YABU for posting in AIBU. You can Report your post and ask for it to be moved.

It's a decision only you can make, but you do sound like an ideal candidate if no contraindications. (Mounjaro works well for me, 70lbs lost since July, minimal side effects.)

It's been moved now - I didn't realise as I always post in AIBU so that's my bad.

Thank you, I'll look into it - I'm a bit worried about side effects, but I guess that's the same with any medication and just need to weigh up pros and cons.

I think almost everyone was apprehensive before starting, but for me it was worth the minimal risk compared with the gains and health benefits of no longer being Obese. I was BMI 38 in July, now 26.5!

The frightening stories in the media are almost exclusively about people who were not eligible for the medication so lied to obtain it, or more often, buying a fake product from hairdressers, beauticians etc.

If you decide to go ahead, choose a reputable, registered Pharmacy. A good website to compare prices from registered pharmacies is monj.co.uk. There's also a thread on the board where people post discounts.

Go for it, what do you have to lose apart from fat, weight and inches 😜

MajorCarolDanvers · 19/01/2025 18:29

I started at BMI 36 in August and am now at BMI 28

i look and feel so much better.

IHateMozzies · 19/01/2025 18:45

It’s definitely worth a try. It’s not easy and you still have to work at it, but just go for it!

I am autistic and have always struggled with food. I am a classic binge eater and I think part of it is sensory seeking for me. It gets worse when I am stressed.

I've done a lot of research and will be starting MJ on Friday. I don't have a huge amount to lose (I am just on the BMI limit for prescription) but I am more interested in the fact it switches off the 'food noise' for the majority of people. I can't imagine ever not thinking about food and my weight 24/7 so I'm skeptical but thought it's worth a try.
