Hi OP, ask your thread to be moved to the WLI board so that you can get responses from people taking them.

@Jenny2020 Click report at the bottom of your post and then put in the box that you would like it moved to the weight loss injection board. See you there!

WeAllHaveWings · 17/01/2025 15:13

@Jenny2020 probably best having a poke around in this weightloss injections board and then asking any more specific questions you have.

Most people in this board are taking them, many have had significant rapid weightloss (you need to decide if this is desirable/healthy) other slower and ongoing weightloss. Some unfortunately tried and had significant side effects, others, manageable or no side effects. Some it worked for and others they didn't work for. It is very mixed.

The first thing I'd say is, to ask you whether your BMI is over 30, or over 27 with at least one weight related health condition, or a BMI of over 27 whilst being one of a qualifying list of ethnicities?

All my views about anything I post about are honest.

If you're obese, particularly if you're morbidly obese, then the weight loss injections can be a huge help to lose the weight. I've been taking Mounjaro for just over 6 months now, and have lost just over 6 and a half stone. Still have plenty to lose so will be continuing with them for maybe another 6 months.

I've had some side effects but nothing that I couldn't manage, and not at all serious enough to make me consider stopping and no longer losing weight.

Can I ask what tablets you're on now, and what they were prescribed for? Was it for diabetes?

Shrinkingrose · 17/01/2025 16:22

Just read all the threads on this sub forum, all the reviews are clearly honest.

How long have you been taking Rybelsus for? Is it prescribed on the NHS for diabetes? What dose are you on?

I've been taking it for about 6 months, have lost 11kg in that time and it has lowered my blood sugar significantly. I do have some horrible gastro side effects on the 14mg dose and am trying to get an appt with my diabetes nurse to talk about lowering it.

If you are on diabetes meds you will struggle to get a private provider to prescribe you one of the weight loss jags.I know the semaglutide injections are meant to be more effective than the tablets but the NHS can't prescribe them right now because of supply issues.
