I'm yo yo-ing. Before Xmas I was using 2.5mg along with a keto milkshake diet. I lost weight about a stone. Side wffects were mainly sickness and tiredness so I stopped over Xmas because I didn't want to throw up over it. I also changed meds which made me mentally unwell. I'm better now
Anyway..ive put weight on. When I'm stressed or sad, I overeat. I meed to address thus I know but tomorrow I plan to start the 2.5 dose again. I'm a bit lost with diets and eating. Obviously I know cakes biscuits etc are bad..eat more veg etc but I feel so overwhelmed having done fad diets for 10 years. What routine do people follow please? I looked at WW to do it with this but I'm not sure that's healthy either. Thanks

I use WW they have a GLP1 plan which focuses on your protein intake. I've found it very helpful and easy to use.

How do you want to eat long term? What you do while on Mounjaro should be setting you up for life off it too. I'd recommend a low carb diet with plenty of healthy fats and protein - if you do this while on Mounjaro, you won't be able to fit any food in even if you're stressed or sad!

A milkshake diet whilst on Mounjaro isn't going to teach you anything. You really need to try and commit to Mounjaro, it's not to be approached like a fad diet you can do for a month, quit for an occasion then restart. I understand you have been ill, hopefully this is a fresh start for you x

This would be a great place to start you can get meal plans but low carb is more about principles of food rather than a list of recipes - so you can learn how to make meals without carbs yourself.

Just normal, healthy eating, with a focus on real foods and protein has worked for me, and I intend to keep going like this, I enjoy it.

Suppose it would be known as 'wholefoods diet' if it needs a name.

Focus is on the quality of nutrients.

"When it comes to diets, people often gravitate toward those that feature a strict set of rules about what you can eat, how much, and at what time. A whole-foods diet is not like that. That’s because it’s not a traditional diet. Instead, it’s an overall approach to eating that can be used to guide your food choices over the long term."

What Is a Whole-Foods Diet? Benefits, Risks, Food List, and More

A whole-foods diet is full of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes, and it limits the amount of processed foods you eat. It may have benefits for weight loss, immunity, gastrointestinal health, and chronic conditions. Learn more about what to...

I 90% follow the Andrew Jenkinson (author of "why we eat too much") method which eliminates wheat, sugar, UPFs, vegetable oils. Low levels of potato/sweet potatoes/rice .
I lost a stone on it 18m ago without mounjaro as a stand alone way of eating but gained it back with pizza and sandwiches Blush

FerretChops · 15/01/2025 20:56

I didn't do any diet tbh and I've gone from 15 stone to 9 and a half

I just ate up to 1500 ish calories a day and tried to focus on relatively good nutrition. A typical day is ...

Home made porridge mix (so oats, seeds, flax, cinnamon, stem ginger, nuts etc) with oat milk, berries and Greek yogurt

Roasted veg and brie sandwich
Bag of crisps

Some fruit or piece of cheese

Rice broth with tofu and veg or pasta with a tomato and basil sauce and salad or veg fajitas

Protein shake

Maybe a chocolate or ice lolly or maybe not

You honestly need to try and eat the way you want to for life. If that's keto or focussing on carbs then crack on, but it just adds in something else to have to stick to
