Medexpress delete tactics and lying

bluebee17 · 08/01/2025 12:44

Just that really has anyone else on the here experience Medexpress delay tactics and lying?
Did you get a refund?

I ordered on 2nd of January and have been chasing them ever since.
Numerous emails back-and-forth of everyone saying something different.
Try to blame Royal Mall saying my item had been dispatched spoke to Royal Mall and they have told me they are expecting it but haven't received it yet from their end to make delivery.
Gave in with the emails and finally called someone and after being on hold for over 30 minutes was told they would investigate because it looks like my order has been lost between their pharmacy and getting to Royal Mall.
Trustpilot seems to have quite a lot of complaints about the same thing but I was wondering if someone on here actually, been through it and what the outcome was?
Thanks

Can any of you imagine how the demand has risen (maybe by 100s of %) almost overnight? Can you imagine how a company might be struggling to scale up? Recruit staff, organise logistics? And you’re in the phone to them day and night after 3 or 4 days over an issue that is probably out of their control (royal mail) and accusing them of lying and insinuating they are going bust?

and no, I don’t work for them. But I do work for distribution companies in a different sector, and there isn’t a company in the world that wouldn’t struggle with a stratospheric bulge in demand like the one they’re experiencing.

Ordered 5 Jan, dispatched 6 Jan, arrived 7 Jan.
Can't complain!

Oh I understand it, but if I get zero communication about it and it lands me with an unusable pen (which it will be if it is in the mail over the weekend) then I reserve my right to move to a company who has their shit a bit more together. It's not as if the new year rush was a surprise. My order has been in the 'awaiting dispatch' phase for days now.

Of course that’s your pejorative @thesaskedminger but I had an even worse problem with Sketchers over Christmas. It’s just an over demand under supply situation. But somehow because it’s these drugs everyone is in a tizz about it - like it’s something sinister. It’s not. It’s a logistics issue.

I think the delivery notification thing is Royal Mail issue not a MedExpress one.

It's a MedExpress issue when it's happening all the time and they are aware of it.

Move supplier? Easily done.

Yeah, I think I really do need to, especially when I see ppl saying they have chalked up £1200 in credit with them. It's mugs like me who are covering the cost of that by paying full price.

I move from most companies who show me bad service.

Mine arrived this morning. About 20 hours after ordering it. Odd that some are so quick and some get stuck.

@cakewench

i cancelled with them and use voy so if they go under or not doesn't affect me. i think taking payment for something and then delaying/dicking about isn't very professional. but OP had their order now so all has turned out well for them.

I think most of the non-subscription pharmacies take payment when you order. It means if their pharmacist reviews and approves your order and you subsequently cancel they will refund minus the cost of the pharmacists time/admin. There are no charges if you are rejected. Which I think is both professional and fair means of working. As you say delaying/dicking around without honest communication with the customer is unprofessional, many pharmacies will be struggling, but they need to manage that with better communication.

With subscription pharmacies, as far as I understand, you need to keep on top of or they will send you out the next pen every 4 weeks, if you tried to cancel/leave them after the cutover for any changes I expect there may be a cost too .

It is personal preference, but I prefer to order when I need, especially if the pharmacy lets you select a delivery date that is suitable.

Tohaveandtohold · 10/01/2025 13:54

I used medexpress for my 4 pens and I got them quickly. I may not order anymore as will be going alone but I don’t understand what the issue is with them asking additional questions or pictures if they need it. Other pharmacies also do this. They’re just doing their checks.
In the email they’re sending reminding me to reorder, they say it may take up to 4 working days to get it approved due to demand so I always order earlier than when I need it.
