Oops! Potassium deficiency on Mounjaro

My diet has changed so much that I have developed Pallesthesia - a weird vibration in my right foot, most likely due to potassium deficiency ☺️. I’ve ordered supplements, had three baby new potatoes with dinner and have ordered lots of potassium-rich foods (pomegranate, kiwi, pumpkin seeds, lentils etc). Not really alarming as this is easy to reverse, but I thought I would post in case this could help others. If your foot is vibrating like a mobile on silent every few seconds, it’s probably a nutrient deficiency!

I have this. I had it and some numbness and swollen ankles for a long time pre Mounjaro, I tried B12 supplements but it remained. It stopped a few weeks into Mounjaro, and around the time I stopped taking omeprazole for acid reflux. Long term use of Omeprazole can impact B12 absorption, so thought I had resolved it.

Problem returned over Christmas and it is really annoying me, especially at night. I had blood tests in December (annual high blood pressure review) and potassium was fine. I am on an ACE inhibitor for HBP which can cause high potassium so it's included in the tests.

Diet hasn't changed much except the usual Christmas treats, and on same supplements. I did restart omeprazole, due to those treats, but only for 3 days so was wondering if it was due to that and giving it a week or so before I ask Dr if they can check for deficiencies.

I had this once when in hospital not on mounjaro but for a bowel problem plus IV fluids, it was horrible, needed a drip.

I think bananas are good for potassium, also electrolytes can have some in.

Thank you - I’m not a banana person but lots of other foods have potassium. I’ve started supplements and the vibration is already gone, so I’m clearly not a severe case.
